Hello! Welcome to our blog about faderIDs.
There is no DNI here and any questions are welcome. Here are the main questions I can see being needed to answer.
what is a fader identity?
A fader identity is more of a model than it's own thing, its how preexisting things work. FaderID is dependent on other identities.
There are three layers to faderIDs: primary fader, secondary fader(s), and tertiary fader(s). The primary fader is how "strong" your other identities are, it can be its own identity, but doesn't have to be. Secondary faders are your main identities, while tertiary identities are your other identities.
How does this work?
Think of it as lights in a theatre, you have your auditorium lights, your stagelights, and spotlights.
Before the show auditorium lights are turned off so you can see the stage. If auditorium lights are off you can see the other lights clearly, if they are on its harder to tell which lights are on and makes it seem like the lights are erratic when the auditorium lights are turned off. Basically 0% is erratic but clear lights, swaps/switches are more noticable and more frequent. 100% is hard to see which lights are on, there may even be doubt your identity exists when its 100%.
Stagelights are what usually lights up the stage. Stagelights are almost always on the entire performance, even in a blueout during transitions or when spotlights take the center light they are dimmed. Stagelights CAN turn off, but it is rare. It can also work as a slider similar to auditorium lights, I have 2 main identities but only 1 stagelight, it's never 0%1 and 100%2, there's always at least 1%.
Spotlights are usually only on for a period of time, never the whole performance. Spotlights can be turned off completely, regularly, and can also be the main light on stage.
What identities can this be used with?
Any of them. This term is not inherently anything.
If your system works like this, go ahead, same with collective, or just plurality in general. Polyminds, SeneusIDS, CopeIDs? Yeah sure, why not. If this is how your brain works as well, absolutely go ahead. Even your queer identity can be described like this! Like flux and fluid identities.
Why did I make this?
In simple terms, I have a lot of different ways my brain works and there was never a term for it.
But in other terms. I'm polyminded and have copeIDs, but I'm also plural which is completely unrelated to either of those.
I used to say "manic" and "depressive" to describe when I was 0% and 100%, since those were the closest terms I could find, but I am not bipolar and I should not be using those terms to mean something they don't. My 2 headmates would be secondary faders, and my minds/copeIDs would be my tertiary faders.
