rules of talking to the fae:

dont give them your name

dont let them pull you into the faerie circle, dont let them tempt you into the faerie circle. you wont be able to leave, regardless of how you enter

your bag should always have iron in it

"can you [x]"= a question, they owe you. "you can [x]"= a command, you owe them (with exceptions: "you can [x]" can be advice. may the gods grant you the wisdom to tell the difference). "you may [x]"= a warning, best not to engage. do not mix them up.

be polite

answer questions with questions

reveal nothing about yourself

be truthful in what you do say, but say little

lies of omission do not count as lies to the fae, be wary

pay attention to wording

the objective is to learn more information than you reveal

dont eat the food

keep something pretty on you, in case of emergency

What would you think of folks sending in prompts, not with the expectation you'll get to it soon or even at all, but just to have in your back pocket for a rainy day when the creative bug gets ya and you need prompts, without having to wait for people to respond to a post you hope they'll see but you need to create NOW? Penny Prompts! Or some cooler name to let you know that it's a thing to bank away for potential use, or not, later.

Unless I'm already working off of a particular train of thought, it's hard for me to take random prompts and build from there. My drafts are already full of inspirations posts and prompts from previous ask memes that I didn't have the energy to answer at the time. I horde them until the moon is full and the stars are aligned and the grass is whistling and the wind is whipping...then the content comes forth.

If a fae says "you can", don't do it; you'll owe them.

If a fae says "can you", go for it; they'll owe you.

Exceptions:

Never give them your name. "Can you give me your name?" should be answered with "You can call me (alias)."

"You can (x) me." should be a case by case scenario.

Some "You can"s are advice, in which simply them telling you can trap you.

"You may" is very much a "don't do it", though it has less possible exceptions.
