      Molly Grue knew of magic better than most; she was the chosen maid of a unicorn, she was the wife of a powerful sorcerer. She could see things that the average human simply could not, for Molly had her own strange magic despite being never trained in witchcraft. To believe so powerfully that magic exists is magic in itself, and she had been gifted with wild eyes that saw the world as it was. 

      And so she knew what this was, who this person was, without even needing to ask. She’d believed in the fae longer than she could remember, for Molly’d come from a rather superstitious background where even the strict Christians mumbled about ghosts and the fair folk. 

      But as many times as she’d met nonhumans, Molly never knew how to properly greet them. As with her first meeting with Amalthea, she very awkwardly curtsied, crossing her dirty bare ankles. Molly’s face was wide-eyed with surprise, but not quite shock. 

       “My name is Molly Grue,” She whispered, a bit breathless, “I am at your service.”

The guards made quick work of the exchange, shoving the money into the thief’s hands as they snatched the worried looking woman away. Roman simply turned to set the money on a nearby table while the bustling men dressed in royal garb marched in rows flanking the girl that continued to stare back at Ro’s hand. 

Curious as to what she was gesturing towards as she disappeared into the night Torchwick looked at his palm to find what appeared to be a glistening piece of reflective glass. It sparkled in dozens of colors and glowed with a mysterious light. Without warning Roman fell to his chair, hearing a soft, hushed whisper in his mind. 

“ in a days time... Schwans gone... third floor balcony.. 11:00 pm... send a signal”

“How.. Interesting~” The thief sneered as the shard rose and shattered into light above his palm.

It was the dead of night in uptown Vale as the guards around the Schwan Manor began to change shifts. The stomping of boots and clamor of tired men grew fainter and fainter as all the noise below Nia’s balcony faded into the light of the city. All fell silent, save for the rising note of a familiar tune. Down below in one of many empty courtyards rose the song of a violin. In the dim glow of the garden stood a man dressed in white, intently focused on his somber medley.  “Now come to me my princess, the guards have gone away.. And while the miserable rich are elsewhere, the heathens will play~ Come to me and you will see a night money could never buy.. And if you’re kind I wouldn’t mind giving your flavor a try~ “

     ‘so.’ a voice from the shadows, the sound of a boot being scuffed. the voice is priding itself on how dead calm it sounds, considering how not-calm everything else feels. ‘fancy meeting you here.’

      it’s an old cliche, but it’s not like coco’s blaming herself for seeking out danger—she’d genuinely came for the views, and miss stabbity bubblegum princess came for...well, she’s not entirely sure. after everything, coco doesn’t think it’s anything good. at all. she steps into the light, if only so the other can see her coffee bitter smile.

     ‘so who talks first. you talk first, i talk first? we’re apparently buddies now, i hear.’

            “  H - HEY  — -   IT  WAS  AN  ACCIDENT ?  ”      honestly !    so  he’d  meant  to  give  it  back  to  her  and  it  broke .  that  wasn’t  his  fault ,  right ?   try   SHODDY  MAKING   of  the  parasol’s  spires .  it  was  flimsy .  terrible .  definitely  not  his  doing  at  all .      “  i  can  ...  buy  you  a  new  umbrella  — - ? ”
