Necesse Launch is Transforming the Adventure Game Scene
Necesse 1.0 the epic sandbox crafting adventure game has officially landed in full on Steam Deck, Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. All thanks to the relentless creativity of Fair Games, the adventure is bigger and better. Which you can find on Steam and Humble Store, plus 96% Overwhelmingly Positive After years in Early Access and more than 1.5 million copies sold, Necesse 1.0 has officially launched. And it’s not just another patch. This is the big one, the game-changer update we’ve all been waiting for on Steam Deck and Linux. For anyone new to the game world, let me set the stage: imagine a top-down sandbox crafting adventure where you can dig, build, fight, explore, and lead your own settlement. Think dungeons full of monsters, massive bosses to conquer, rare ores to mine, and entire communities to manage. Now multiply that by infinity, since the full version has launched its old island-based gameplay and gone fully seamless. That’s right: one infinite world, no loading screens, just pure exploration and discovery.
Necesse 1.0 is now live!
So, what’s new in Necesse 1.0?
Infinite Seamless World – The islands are gone. You’ve now got one massive, procedurally generated world to lose yourself in. The scale feels bigger, bolder, and also way more immersive.
Settler Interactions – Your settlers aren’t just background NPCs anymore. They talk, joke, emote, and yes… sometimes even discuss burgers. (Honestly, same.)
Expanded Endgame & Final Boss – The brand-new Incursion system introduces a talent tree and a final boss fight that pushes your build, strategy, and nerves to the limit.
Community Builds – Nearly 100 player-submitted designs have been folded into the Necesse 1.0 world generation. So, it feels like the community itself is now part of the landscape.
Massive Quality-of-Life Upgrades – New sound effects (over 300 of them!), fresh armor sets, balancing tweaks, and settler management tools polish everything to a fine shine.
Why you should care
This isn’t just another sandbox. Necesse 1.0 finally fulfils the vision of an endless sandbox crafting adventure you can share with friends. You can play solo, but nothing beats jumping in with your crew, taking down scaled-up bosses together, and then settling down to build a thriving village. Want to host your own dedicated server? Easy. Want to switch your build on the fly? Done. Want to go fishing, farm, and whip up food and potions for the next raid? You got it. And the best part? The launch comes with new bundle deals with Palworld and Core Keeper, making it the perfect time to dive in if you’ve been holding off. Whether you’re running Linux, Mac, Windows, or gaming on Steam Deck (yes, it’s Verified), this is the perfect moment to carve out your story in an infinite world. That you can find on Steam and Humble Store with a 50% discount, and a price of $7.49 USD / £6.49 / 7,49€. So grab your gear, recruit some settlers, and get ready to explore without boundaries. Necesse 1.0 isn’t just an update—it’s a new beginning.

Finished some Lineart!! They are on a date!!! <3
I don't know when I will get around to coloring it- so in the meantime I'm posting it here- and you have my permission to color this if you want to- I mean it looks like a coloring page so... I personally might print it out myself and pull out my color pencils- but I want to move on to other projects for now.
Tearful Goodbyes
(Part 6 of Resident Evil 2 Family Stories)
(Claire)
Claire knocks on the guest room’s door and Leon opens it almost immediately.
“Hey Claire, what’s up?”
“Can we talk?”
Leon nods, then opens the door wider so she can come in. The two sit down on Leon’s bed.
“I have to go back to looking for my brother,” Claire says. “It’s been almost three weeks and Sherry’s okay enough to be without me for a while. I need to find Chris.”
“You won’t hear any objects from me,” Leon says. “It was always the plan for you to go find your brother. I’m gonna request to work at the station temporarily. My parents said that if I start helping with food costs, that we can stay as long as we need to. Sherry’ll be safe here with me until you get back.”
Claire nods, “Thanks, Leon.”
“My pleasure. We should try to do something fun before you leave though.”
“Like what?”
“There’s a fair going on in the next town over. We could go there for the day tomorrow.”
I really should leave tonight, but one more day won’t kill anyone. Chris’ll be fine.
“Okay, we can go tomorrow and then I’ll leave in the evening.”
Leon nods, “Sounds like a plan.”
“Can I…?” Claire stops herself.
I’m going to leave tomorrow. Now isn’t the time.
“Can you what?” Leon asks, tilting his head so he can see Claire’s face better with her hanging her head.
“Nevermind,” Claire says, standing up. “Goodnight, Leon.”
Leon grabs Claire’s hand and gives her a soft smile, “Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be here. Goodnight, Claire.”
He lets go of her hand, so she quickly retreats to Leon’s room, which she’s still sharing with Sherry. Sherry’s not there, so Claire assumes she must have fallen asleep reading with Fred. She climbs into bed and tries to fall asleep. Sleep evades her though, it seems to be actively running away at a pace she can’t catch up to. When she finally looks at the clock, it’s midnight.
“Damn,” she mutters.
A knock on the door pulls her from her thoughts. She gets up and opens the door. She barely gets to see Leon before he pulls her into a hug. She wraps her arms around him and puts her head against his chest, just glad for him to be up.
“Sorry if I woke you,” Leon whispers. “I… I couldn’t sleep.”
“Me too. Wanna come in and talk until we get tired? We seem to be able to put each other at ease.”
“Yeah, I’d like that a lot. Might as well spend our last night together talking.”
Claire laughs. They spend two hours talking about Claire’s travel plans before they pass out. Claire wakes up to Leon getting up.
He smiles, “Hey, I’m gonna make breakfast, come down whenever you’re ready.”
Claire nods, “Thank you, Leon. You’re the best.”
His smile gets a little bigger with a hint of mischief in it, “I know.”
He gives her a wink, then walks out. She laughs, glad to have him.
(Leon)
Leon heads downstairs, the butterflies still present. He tries to shake them off as he heads into the kitchen.
“What to make?” he mumbles as he opens the fridge.
“Am I ever going to make breakfast again?” Velma asks.
He looks up and she’s in the entryway to the kitchen, a smile on her face.
“I don’t think I like how little you’re sleeping.”
“How would you…?”
“God blessed me by giving you your father’s dark circles. Can’t lie to me without real work, which you two have never been interested in.”
Leon shrugs, “You’ll have to start making breakfast again when I get approved to work at the station. Claire’s leaving tonight, so I’ll be putting in the request first thing tomorrow.”
“She’s leaving?” Velma asks.
“Yeah,” Leon answers, “She’s going to look for her brother. With everything being more settled now, it makes sense for her to go. We’re taking Sherry to the fair as a little farewell trip.”
“Are you gonna be okay?”
“I’m gonna be fine, Mama. It’s only for a little while, and I’ll be too busy working and taking care of Sherry to spend too much time worrying about her.”
“Mmhmm,” Velma hums, but she doesn’t sound like she believes him.
He sighs, then pulls out ingredients for omelets. He really doesn’t want to argue with her, so he’s choosing to ignore her reaction.
“I’m gonna wake your father so he’ll take his meds.”
Leon nods and she leaves. A few minutes later, Leon hears Sherry walk in.
“Hey,” Leon says without looking up, “What do you want on your omelet?”
“Claire’s leaving, isn’t she?” Sherry asks.
Leon turns and she’s on the verge of tears.
“Hey, no need for tears,” Leon says, going over and kneeling beside Sherry. “She’s just going to look for Chris. She’ll be back once she finds him.”
“What if she decides that she doesn’t wanna come back?”
“I would never,” Claire says, rushing to Leon’s side and hugging Sherry. “You’re stuck with me forever, Sherry.”
Sherry starts crying and clings to Claire, “Please come back.”
“I will,” Claire promises, “I’m gonna come back with Chris, who’s gonna absolutely love you.”
Leon stands up and grabs the chocolate milk out of the fridge. Claire gets Sherry into her chair, then Leon gives her a glass of chocolate milk.
“You’re stuck with us,” Leon promises.
Sherry nods as she takes the glass.
“And she’s not leaving just yet. We’re gonna go visit the fair that Dad and I were talking about yesterday.”
Sherry perks up, so Leon goes back to making breakfast. Claire spends that time telling Sherry how bored she’s gonna be on her trip, but that she’ll send lots of pictures when she can. They eat breakfast, then start packing for their day trip. Leon makes sure that they have everything, then packs the car. He comes back in and Sherry’s saying goodbye to his parents.
“Almost ready to go?” Leon asks.
Sherry nods, “We’re just waiting on Claire.”
As if on cue, Claire comes down. She’s wearing a blush pink shirt and jeans that fit her just the right way, leaving Leon temporarily speechless.
“You look nice,” he finally manages with a smile.
“Thanks,” Claire replies, “We should get going though, so we don’t lose too much sunlight.”
(Claire)
The ride’s uneventful, just Sherry and Leon playing eye-spy. Leon always guesses Sherry’s, but Sherry can never seem to figure out what brown thing Leon’s look at. Claire didn’t play since she didn’t understand the point of playing it in the car. When they get there, Sherry’s out of the car in a second and bouncing around, trying to look at everything.
“I wanna go play!” Sherry exclaims.
“We’re gonna go together,” Leon says, opening the trunk.
Claire walks over to help him get things out of the trunk. “What were you seeing in eye-spy? Just curious since I couldn’t think of it.”
Leon flicks a strand of Claire’s hair before putting it behind her ear and giving her a sly smile. He grabs the rest of the bags, then goes over to Sherry. Claire blushes, then shakes her head and closes the trunk. She goes over to Leon and Sherry, trying to hide the blush. Sherry grabs one of Claire’s hands and one of Leon’s, then starts walking.
Leon shows Claire and Sherry, who have never been to a fair before, how to play each game. Claire enjoys watching Sherry blame Leon for her struggling and him trying to convince her that it takes practice. Claire’s fairly good at most of them, due to them just needing a proper aim, but some of them she hates . Leon’s good at all of them, explaining that he’s gone to this fair every year for as long as he can remember. He keeps letting Sherry pick the prizes he gets, so she’s got an armful of stuffed animals and toys. Claire and Sherry enjoy fair food while Leon doesn’t end up eating anything.
By the time it’s getting dark, they only have a few games left. Sherry wants to play some claw machine-type game, so Leon lets her go do that.
“You want to shoot aliens?” Leon asks, motioning toward the stand next to where Sherry’s playing.
She nods, so they go over. The guy manning the stand, a sickly-looking guy in his twenties, smiles widely upon seeing them.
“Leon Kennedy,” he says, “and who is this?”
“Claire, this is my friend Rex. Rex, Claire’s a friend that’s staying with me and my folks.”
“I never thought that Leon would bring a lady around.”
“Alright, knock it off,” Leon says. “We’re gonna play, so give us the damn guns.”
Rex laughs, then hands the guns to Leon and Claire. “Leon has the top score around here. If you beat him, I’ll give you the grand prize.”
Claire and Leon exchange a brief smile before starting. Claire beats Leon by two points. She turns and he doesn’t look thrilled about it, so she doesn’t think that he let her win. Rex gives her a giant teddy bear, which she accepts with a small smile.
“You can pick something too, loser,” Rex says as Claire admires the bear.
“That one,” Leon says.
She looks up in enough time to see Leon offering her a blush pink colored Brontosaurus. She drops the bear and takes it with trembling fingers.
“Are you alright?” Leon asks.
“I used to have one like this, just green. It… it got destroyed.”
“I.. I can get you a new…”
“It’s perfect, thank you.”
Claire hugs Leon and he returns the gesture. The two lean forward.
(Leon)
“Claire! Leon!”
Their heads snap toward Sherry’s voice. She runs over with prizes in hand.
“Is that our bear?”
Leon picks the bear up, “Yeah, it’s yours.”
She admires the bear, deciding it’s acceptable.
“We should probably head back,” Leon says, “We want to get home in enough time for Claire to eat and pack.”
Claire nods, so they head back to the car. Leon gets everything packed neatly into the back, aside from the bear, which Sherry insisted on taking to the backseat with her. He gets into the car and they head off. Claire talks to Sherry the whole ride back, leaving Leon to his thoughts. While he’s mostly able to keep his thoughts on the road, they keep wandering back to Claire. How he wants to tell her about his feelings, but she’s leaving.
I can wait until she gets back. Make her a nice dinner and everything. That would be nice.
“Leon?”
Leon turns to look at Claire.
“Sherry asked what you think we’re having for dinner.”
He looks back at the road, “I don’t know. My dad said that he was cooking, so it’s probably something complicated and tasty.”
Sherry and Claire resume their conversation, so Leon sighs.
What were you expecting? Her to say exactly what you’ve been thinking? Ask me what’s on my mind? I wouldn’t answer that question, I don’t want to give Sherry the wrong idea.
They get there and Fred’s on the front porch, smoking. “Dad, you’re not supposed to be doing that anymore,” Leon says as he gets out.
“You sound like your mother. Stop trying to bully me.”
Leon goes over and takes the cigarette. Instead of what he normally does, which is stomp it out, he goes to put it in his mouth. Fred takes it and stomps it out, then goes inside without a word. Leon heads back to the car to get the stuff out of the trunk, pleased with himself.
“What was that?” Claire asks.
“We’re genetically predisposed to addiction or something, so my dad’s been trying to keep me away from anything I could get addicted to. I thought of the idea a while ago, but this is the first time I’ve been able to try it out. I won’t smoke, already tried it in my teens and I hated it.”
They head inside and Fred’s finishing dinner with a very grumpy look on his face. Leon and Claire head upstairs to get everything put away. Leon’s putting Sherry’s stuffed animals on the bed when he feels arms wrap around his abdomen. He glances back to confirm that it’s Claire, then puts a hand on hers.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers.
“Don’t be,” Leon says. “Find your brother, then we can sort this out.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
Leon moves her arms so he can turn, then puts her arms back and hugs her.
“Thank you, for being understanding.”
“Anytime.”
(Claire)
Claire and Leon get downstairs just in time to help set the table before dinner. Dinner is filled with Sherry telling Fred and Velma about the fair trip. Claire chimes in to add tidbits, but Leon seems very quiet. He’s smiling and nodding along, but his heart doesn’t seem in it. She doesn’t bother him about it, maybe he’s just in his head like he was in the car.
After dinner, she goes up to pack. Sherry insists on helping her, which she’s grateful for. She really didn’t want to have to be alone for the entire packing process. Sherry chats her ear off about starting school and hoping that the other kids aren’t too mean. Claire assures her that she’ll make plenty of friends as they finish packing.
Claire and Sherry head downstairs and Claire starts saying her goodbyes. Fred makes her promise to write while Velma tells her to take care of herself. Sherry cries, but assures Claire that she’ll take care of Leon while she’s gone.
“Do you want a ride to the airport?” Leon asks as she walks over.
“I’m good, I already called a cab,” she answers, then hugs him.
He hugs her back, putting his head on her shoulder. So many unspoken words between them, but the hug seems to convey them. Be safe, I’ll be waiting, I love you. They let go and Claire hugs Sherry one more time. Leon helps Claire take her bags outside. Perfect timing, the taxi arrives.
He gets her bags in, then takes her hand. “Be safe and take care of yourself.”
“Same to you, hotshot,” Claire says, booping his nose.
They hug for a moment before she gets into the taxi. Leon and Claire wave to each other until they’re out of sight. Claire sighs and leans her head back.
“First time being away from the boyfriend?” the driver, a gruff man in his forties, asks.
Claire opens her mouth, then closes it.
“Yeah, it is. Hopefully, it won’t be for too long.”
The rest of the ride is quiet outside of the radio playing music quietly. She gets out and gets her bags before paying the driver, then heads inside.
“Next stop, Europe.”
(Yeah, I teased Cleon and then didn't do it. I think I might actually hate myself for it, but I wanted a very specific start to Cleon so you guys are gonna have to wait a bit longer.)
