Welp, we finally got that snow we was all hopin’ for. I’m so bummed that We are all so sick that we can’t really go out and enjoy it much. 😭💕🎄 It’s alright though. Other than periodic bouts of misery, I generally feel really good - being sick is a natural part of life, and the western tendency of over dramatizing it and making one out to be sinful or bad in some way for experiencing pain is toxically patriarchal and not helpful in the healing process. Getting sick is just the body’s way of processing all the yuck we are naturally exposed to, and it’s a blessing to be given time and space to stop and digest everything that we have been through. Being sick is sort of like going to sleep. It makes you stronger in some ways. It helps you see things differently. It’s refreshing in an unusual way.Being sick on Christmas was just our bodies’ way of telling us we needed to be alone for the holidays. In the new year, I’m not going to pay anything mind if it doesn’t directly contribute to my growth and connection with other like minded souls. I’m not going to spend time arguing on Facebook about shit. I’m not going to be retweeting, commenting, contradicting, and proving people wrong all over the place.
