After more than a year of navigating the vast seas of RWBY fics on AO3, you could say I've exhausted everything this page had to offer (for now).
The truth is, as I said in part 4, the obsession I've developed with this ship is something I've rarely experienced, and I'm even more surprised to see that it's lasted this long, although I have the fandom to thank for its enormous creativity. Seeing how people were able to spin so many interesting stories and premises from a ship that only floated for a while was fascinating. Ideas about how Clover could have contributed to Qrow's development and vice versa, expanding the character and background of the characters, playing with contrast or even the duality of good and bad luck, among many others... And all of this while maintaining the good chemistry they had during their brief time together was very entertaining, and I don't regret having continued this journey this far. A big congratulations to all the authors who created so many great, funny, and emotional stories 👏👌
Obviously, I haven't read every single fanfic there was, because from the beginning I had some "guidelines," so to speak, for choosing what to read, so I refrained from reading:
- AUs outside the canon universe of the series, like Modern Setting AUs, Fantasy AUs, etc...
- Fanfics with explicitly graphic sexual content (the only one to break this rule was Nightly Visit because I didn't pay close attention to the tags that time XD)
Also, I'm not entirely sure where the idea for these lists came from, but the truth is that it greatly benefit from the experience by sharing my most notable "finds" so other hypothetical fans can enjoy them :D
Unfortunately, not everything was good. In addition to all the controversy and misinterpretations that arose at the time following the end of V7 and the poor management of the social media team, I also learned of the existence of toxic fans who made their lives miserable, harassing and even threatening both the show's staff due to the "queerbaiting" misunderstanding as well as other fans who only showed a vision of the ship that didn't match with their "standard". Honestly, it's unfortunate and truly painful how some turned something as simple and innocent as a ship into a reason for hate and aggression, It's simply disgusting and this type of behavior should never be tolerated or minimized. However, as I said, there have also been and continue to be fans capable of expressing their love for FairGame and RWBY in a healthy way, and I prefer to stick with those people who are truly worthwhile rather, instead the worst side of this little world.
In any case, for my part, it's time for me to take a nice long break. While I still love FairGame, I feel completely satisfied, a little exhausted too, to be honest, and for the moment, I have no interest in continuing to search for works on other sites like FF.Net or Wattpad.
For The Moment, this all from me, see you next time! 🐦⬛🍀
