I’m not a RWBY blog, I do not intend to ever post about RWBY again, but I am SO MAD at season 7 and Clover’s death that I’m being legally forced to post this theory because I need to Hope
Clover is the Fisher King
This is very obvious by the fact that he fights with a literal fishing pole called the Kingfisher. Which is also a bird and Qrow is a bird and i’M SO MAD
Anyway. What’s the Fisher King? The Fisher King is a figure from Arthurian folklore in which Percival or sometimes Galahad (whoever’s playing the Grail Knight which is its whole own thing) comes across a kingdom in tatters due to their king being horribly injured. In the mythos, this causes him to not be able to have children, and the kingdom falls into disarray due to his infertility. I don’t see this part as being relevant but hey there you go.
Imma paraphrase but in the mythos, the Grail Knight arrives at the Fisher King’s palace and is warned not to talk too much. While there, he sees a procession of people carrying strange objects, most notably a grail
And, after the procession is over, the Grail Knight is scolded because if he had just asked the Healing Question
After this, the Grail Knight has to go on a question to find out the Healing Question, return, heal the Fisher King, and restore the kingdom.
Huh? Is there a kingdom in disarray at this moment? Could a certain person’s injury make things worse? Could them getting better help the kingdom get better? Huh? Not sure.
Tldr: Clover is the Fisher King from Arthurian mythos. The Fisher King being injured makes the kingdom go to shit. He is healed by asking a specific question.
I’m going to go back to my Good Omens land where everything is happy and I experience the emotion of joy
