hi! any advice in moving with a snake and a tarantula? im moving into my new apartment soon and its about a 2 hour drive from my current home. any advice on how to reduce as much of their stress as possible?
Oh jeeze, I’m not entirely sure I can help a lot with this one. I haven’t really moved with either of these before! The only thing I can really think of (besides making sure temperatures stay comfortable for them, of course) is to try to give their moving containers as much padding & such as possible - both animals are sensitive to vibrations, so try to reduce those & make sure the containers won’t be shifting around a lot.
At least for taking Charis to the vet, my carrier for her is a flat sterilite container with a hinged lid - she can move around a bit, but not a ton. I typically put a blanket in with her so she has something with more texture to move around on, and can hide under it if she wants to. But our vet drive is only ~15 minutes, so I’m not sure if that would be the best method for a 2 hour drive or if something different should be done.
Throwing this out to followers & reptiblr - does anyone have experience with moving snakes & tarantulas? Advice? I’d love to know as well for the future, especially for snakes!
