Last month, #Fulbright students and alumni met in Williamson, WV for a week of service learning with @amizadegsl. Back in 2013 @steelers' owner, and Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Dan Rooney welcomed a group of Amizade students from Northern Ireland and Pittsburgh for a tour of Heinz Field and a chance to talk with the Ambassador about football, North American culture, and US-Ireland relations. Today, Amizade is saying goodbye to Mr. Rooney looking at his lasting legacy and reminiscing upon this extraordinary moment in our history of cross-cultural programs. My favourite thing about being in Williamson is to be able to walk out to my front porch and look at the stars. My grandpa has a pond in front of his house and I always think it's so great to be able to play music to the frogs. Last day of activities in Appalachia through the lens of @seokwun. ・・・ Last night in Williamson and we had a bonfire in the community garden. It's been such an inspiring experience to meet the Fulbrighters from all over the world (truly beautiful souls who shine with kindness and wisdom) as well as the local residents in Williamson who showed us what it means to be purposeful and be of service to the community regardless of the hurdles in life.
