Am I the only one who noticed that being weird has become mainstream these days? Seriously there are a lot of fake geeks lately and it’s pissing me off, all these “It’s okay to be weird” pictures and shirts are bullshit. It is definitely okay to be weird, but only when you truly are! Some girls out there are pretending to be “weird” just to be cute as in  “Omfg I sit under my bed sheets and eat pizza while watching anime omfg I’m so weird” , I mean sure some people find that cute but don’t fucking pretend to be so when YOU’RE NOT! BE YOUR OWN DAMN SELF! WHO CARES IF PEOPLE THINK YOU’RE CUTE OR NOT? AS LONG AS YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH YOURSELF THEN THERE’S NO FUCKING PROBLEM! AFTER ALL THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE WORLD IS YOURSELF so don’t be “weird” (unless you really are) just be you damn it jeez..

 I know that I might get a ton of hate for what I just said but you know what? Fuck it! I’ve been wanting to say this for a while and I finally have..it feels good to let pointless shit out every once in a while…I just wanted to point out how stupid society has become

Today some asshat at work told me I’m not a geek because I haven’t seen any Star Trek tv series OR any of the movies, and I was too stunned to punch him in the neck OR rebut.  Like, how DARE you. He then went on to say that since he hasn’t seen any Doctor Who, that makes HIM a bad geek.  We were at work, so my knee-jerk reaction of “fuck you, who do you think you are, telling me I’m not a geek because YOU think I’m not“ was not appropriate.

(Also, he didn’t like Mad Max Fury Road, because “It’s just that chick from Snow White driving a truck for two hours” and I had my response ready for THAT, so thanks to the MMFR fandom for all the meta from the past year.)

(The other fannish people at work are SUPER COOL but one had a shift change and I miss geeking out with him so much.  So when Asshole McGee stunned me with “Oh, you’re not a real geek” I was so unprepared for that assault on my mental state.)
