Netanyahu this, Netanyahu that, it's always Netanyahu with these guys. Israel, Israel did this, like Israel did every single other crime they did these last decades. But people like Bernie don't want you to think that, because then you will ask yourself another question. Why are we supporting Israel in the first place, why does Israel even exist? It's the liberal zionist position, no Netanyahu and peace will prevail, the status quo is good, efficient, it doesn't bring much news.

The status quo is colonisation, death, genocide at a slower albeit more digestible rate for the white liberal on another continent. So they can keep eating their brunch, watching their shows, playing their games, without any thoughts about the misery that the world endure under the american israeli imperialist rule. The whole israeli system embrace genocide, from the ruling party to the opposition, doctors, journalists, lawyers, all parts of society. A society entirely built on the oppression of palestinians, more than 3/4 of israeli believe in it.

It's existence bring by default oppression to the entire region, because the means necessary to keep it functioning require it. And people like Bernie are precious to the system because they make it tolerable for westerner to think Israel as something else than the rotten rabid racial supremacist colony it is. They corrupt the social movements they claim themselves being a part of, to make the left servile and follow the same disgusting ideologies they support.

Observe how the Third Party/Tankie/Acceerlationist crowd have already pivoted to churning out the exact same posts about Harris as they did about Biden- "She's just like Trump", "Genocide", etc.

Do you get it now? It doesn't matter who the nominee is. These are not valid complaints or concerns. The rhetoric will be exactly the same. It is pushed either by extremists who see anything not fitting their standards of ideological purity as the enemy, or by MAGA trolls trying to elect Trump.

Your personal validation is not more important than actually saving lives.

If your moral purity politics and conservative guilt tripping are preventing you from taking effective action, like say voting out real life Nazis, then you are not the good the person you pretend to be and you don't actually care about the causes that you claim to care about.

Anyways, show up at the polls on Election Day to remove the GOP from all levels of office, and block and report anyone who tries to argue that "both sides are the same" or that the "Dems are secretly worse", because these people do not care about the well being of yourself or others.

as a white leftist i am so embarrassed of us guys like let’s be fucking critical thinkers for a second and also when we get criticized for our whiteness not shut down completely or dig deeper into those comfort zones of “oh but i have these marginalities” or “oh but your tone is…l” or “oh i didn’t mean it like that” or “oh i don’t need to explain myself to you”!!

like as a white person saying “i hate white people” actually does and means nothing it’s not enough and will never be. we have to actively work to distance ourselves from our WHITE egos and all of the things that come with it. there are biases incredibly deep in all of us and it’s our duty to unlearn it and also NOT immediately try to be social justice warrior of the year and want a gold star for it or something.

like i feel like a lot of white leftists have a moment where they realize that their entire worldview is wrong. and that’s a really foundational moment and is really important and valuable in growing. but like then being like “im so different from other white people because i KNOW WHY racism is bad” is like … fucking dumb and stupid. you’re still just being white and loud and taking up space and not REALLY FULLY GETTING IT. Like it’s a pick- me white person. and there was certainly a time in my life that i was there - i think it is just part of the journey to like get so rocked worldview wise to just like completely catapult yourself into the other direction, right. BUT like … too many people get stuck in that SJW phase and it’s honestly so embarrassing because you’re using all the buzzwords and the therapy speak but you’re still doing white supremacist things and perpetuating white supremacist values. you need to move past that and realize that your mindset is still being sullied by your whiteness

and disavowing whiteness is not the way to go bc it’s performative. we are and always will be white. part of making that change from annoying SJW to more fruitful anti white supremacist is understanding that your mind is a white supremacist one and you will always have that inside of you. we will always benefit from white supremacy. we need to THINK and pick apart our every THOUGHT before we SAY OR DO ANYTHING

People keep throwing around “make a new party!” to break up the two party system.  Split off from the Dems rIgHt nOw!!^!&!%^!, with absolutely no plan as to how this new magical group would have enough power to keep literal traitors to from succeeding where they failed earlier this year due to a barely standing fence.  Making that split useless, self-sabotaging and doomed to failure from the get-go.

“Convince the workers of both parties to split off and make the new party.”  Ok, how?  Showing the stats obviously hasn’t worked.  And insulting them constantly hasn’t, for some strange reason.  And at least half of them have made it clear they’re pretty OK with everything going to shit.  So how?

Never mind the people you’re telling to split off and build the party -- the Squad, working-class, activists, etc. -- are also the same people you insult and throw under the bus when they try to do something productive.  “Performative!” “Coddling!” “Kool-aid!” “May as well do nothing!” “The people of <insert state here> need to wake up, and I’m going to make memes calling them morons until they do!”

And then there’s the hypocrisy -- “He should fix everything with a stroke of his pen!” “But pointing out the lies is authoritarian!”  “I’m so socialist, my main outlets and sources are Fox News and New York Post!”  

So is it about doing it the right way, or just taking over and doing what you want, everyone else be damned, even if it gets torn down by the next full moon?  And is it do everything at once or don’t bother doing anything because it doesn’t matter?  

And, of course, there’s the fact that nothing is incorruptible.  Activist turned check-casher Sinema, lip-service fraud Greenwald.  Hell, just watching the current infighting makes it obvious nothing will coalesce the way you (or you, or also you) want just by slapping one new label on it.  

Bloody hell, I wish something could actually happen to get out of this system. But too busy calling each other “dirty centrists” before you even get outside your own bubble.  (He says while petting the bubble.)  Just three dysfunctional groups instead of two.

Things are happening, with little thanks to the mouth-foamers: Strikes leading to better working conditions, the folks that are good or evil (depending on your mood for the day) negotiating for better benefits and rights in the country. Cities are showing that UBI and police alternatives can work. The people who lived here long before us bloody annoying colonists, and the ones we dragged along for the ride, are getting some of their legacy back.  

Maybe plan something that can stick and solidify, and doesn’t ruin both the things you tout and everything else around us in the process, instead of throwing buzzwords and insults around, particularly at people you need.   

Or admit either you’re jealous they thought of the coup first, or giving conservatives and fascists all the power was the goal from the start.

My thoughts as a Democrat re the argument over whether the Democratic Convention should have had a Palestinian speaker.

Honestly, my opinion leans toward yes, they should have. It would have further promoted and highlighted the inclusiveness of a big tent party, and it would have denied critics ammunition to claim that the party is anti-Palestinian.

It would also have resulted in some pushback, but frankly, anyone who would be driven away by the mere presence of a Palestinian person on a stage is a) a racist, and b) for the most part, probably already inclined to favour Donald Trump.

However, I also think that (as with anything else that Harris/the Democrats do), it would not have satisfied many of the critics. Obviously the Democrats would not have invited a speaker who would denounce America, call for the destruction of Israel, advocate terrorism, denounce Jews, etc. Which means that whoever they invited would not be someone who the extremists would accept. They would be denounced as a traitor and a sell-out. Honestly they'd probably be denounced as such simply for agreeing to appear at the Democratic Convention.

Actually I think that even a full-throated endorsement of Hamas at the convention (in some deranged alternate reality where such a thing could happen) wouldn't satisfy a lot of these people, because they are ideologically committed to losing- anyone who is in a position of actual power (like having the support of a major political party) is automatically seen as the oppressor and the sell-out, in their brand of purity politics (unless it was them with the power, then they'd be a dictator every bit as bad as Trump).

So yes, I think the Democrats should have had a Palestinian speaker, but for its own sake, not because it would have ever actually satisfied the critics.

I also say that with the awareness that any Palestinian person who accepted such a role, if offered, would be placing themselves in considerable danger- not just from the fascists on the Right, but from the self-proclaimed "pro-Palestinians" on the Left.
