Even now, staring at the screen counting how many times the cursor blinks as I think of what line comes next It doesn’t feel normal It doesn’t feel like the same thing I’ve done for a year now vomited words, but they don’t look like mine and I wonder what better poet I’m ripping off

Going through my For You tab, I am overwhelmed by the number of AI videos, not just photos, that are out there. I can spot them a mile away, but mostly because I trust my instincts. If the video is too clean, or too perfect, it's probably not real. And if it's not AI, it's fake in some other way.

Lions kissing lambs. Young women fighting off a gang of guys in a small space. People doing impossible stunts.

Imagine a video where the President tells you that because of the dire situation at hand, rights are going to have to be suspended, a fully automated military must handle "this problem," and that equal and fair distribution of food and water is a priority in these difficult times. Imagine that everyone acquiesces because he has done so much good for us.

And all the while, the President is dead.

Living in a False World (Matrix Anniversary)

Matrix It’s not a milestone year, but ‘The Matrix’ was released on March 31, 1999.  I think this movie really changed how certain genres operate.  At least for a time.  We saw ‘bullet time’ everywhere and stories about living in simulations exploded.  Not to mention characters who could absorb skills like Neo and chosen one tales.  It really was a fun movie and I still enjoy it today because it…
