thank you so so much for this blog I saw a comic that was something like "this person was real, but I denied to help without proof, so I made this vulnerable person jump through hoops just to get my support. Imagine if I had blocked them first!! That would be me dooming them to a painful death and I'd be a horrible person" (and of course the comic creator linked multiple sketchy fundraisers at the end of the comic with a reblog bait)

"I denied to help without proof" God forbid. Shouldn't investigating for proof of validity before sending money to anyone online be common sense?

Also, the guilt trips are insane. Personally blocking a sketchy account is not going to singlehandedly cause painful death.
