Now, for some birthday headcanons… !
Specifically for my Cottage tea!au <3
- I feel like, given her life as a soldier and unfamiliarity with events like festivals, I personally believe Gabi hasn’t had the strongest experience with birthdays. So when everything is finally peaceful, she’ll quickly grow an obsessions with her birthday.
- Gabi would want, especially for her first few birthdays, to have the most amazing and extravagant birthday. Not to say the most ‘expensive’ birthday though, but one that will give her the birthday experience she desires.
- She’ll want to invite as much people as she can, along with decorate the entire house and think of all the possible activities’ they can do. Board games, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Art and Crafts, singing around the cake, watching movies outside…
- Girl would become so focused on all the things they can do that she’ll forgets one of the basic concepts of birthdays… “presents.” So when she’s finally given a present, she’ll have a second of confusion before she’ll become all giddy and starry eyed, like “Oh right! PRESENTS!”
- When her birthday finally comes, she’ll decorate the entire house to fit the aesthetic and make sure everything is in place. At least, that’s how her first big experience of birthdays went.
- The second time around though, Levi ended up taking her out and around town. Weird for her, but also something exciting and new. Also, she got to try out and eat all the sweets she desired for breakfast (Well, at least until her sugar crash hit lol). So of course, she was really happy.
- But when she got home, her excitement only grow as she was greeted with a surprise party. She didn’t get to decorate this year, but she was filled with too much adrenaline and joy to really care.
- One of her favorite things about her birthday? Food. New and familiar food. Especially, and I say especially, sweets. I feel like Gabi will have such a sweet tooth and her birthday is the perfect time to fill it.
- As for presents.. She’d get a lot of sweets, plants, and books, from everyone overall, since they all knew those were her current favorites. As for more specific presents though.. I feel like most of Levi’s gifts would be not-so-obvious ones. Taking her places and letting her buy whatever she wants and so forth.
- Falco would gift her a lot of books, sometimes about plants/her current obsession, other times, story books he knew she’d love. Every now and then though, he’d buy her a plant. Kaya also gifted Gabi plants, though unlike Falco who’d get them from the store, Kayas were straight from her home/the forest. Another gift Kaya would often bring were clothes/small accessories she learned to craft (usually with her siblings). Hair clips, scarfs, and eventually, after years of practice, dresses. I have this headcanon that the dress Gabi wears in the ending was actually a birthday gift by Kaya.
- Finally, Reiner would buy Gabi different things, but the most common was sweets. Probably not the best idea.. He could just see the sugar rush coming. But at the same time, he couldn’t resist her puppy eyes or her overwhelming happiness.
- In the end, most of her birthdays would end in a success and a very exhausted, yet satisfied, Gabi.
