Things to do this Autumn
These are 10 things you can do during autumn that doesn't cost a thing or costs minimal. If you have anything to add, please feel free to add them as you reblog! I look forward to see what others enjoy doing or ideas of fun things to do!
Sit down with a sketchbook and doodle anything that reminds you of Autumn. You might even create a whole Autumn scene and turn it into something truly amazing.
Go for a stroll in the park or local cemetery (as long as people are welcome, don't trespass! Some towns have nice little cemeteries or graveyards with pathways and benches, take advantage if you can) and observe all the beautiful leaves changing, animals collecting for the winter or playing around with other animals. What kind of scents do you smell? What kind of things do you hear?
Learn to make your favorite seasonal drink! I love pumpkin chai so I learned how to make pumpkin syrup and grabbed my favorite chai from the grocery store to make my own beverage at home. It's so much fun if you enjoy being in the kitchen!
Make Autumn Leaf Garland. I don't recommend hanging this in your home unless you make it fire-proof. Gather freshly fallen leaves from around your yard or during your walk and adhere them to yarn, twine, or any form of string of your choosing. It adds for a cozy atmosphere!
Grab a book and cozy up in bed with an autumn scented candle or wax melt. This is my favorite thing to do all year round but it really is the best during autumn--- Especially when it's comfortable outside enough to crack a window to hear the breeze or smell the leaves.
Write Poems! To me, nothing connects me better than writing a poem about autumn. It encourages me to really think about the senses of autumn. The smell of a bonfire, leaves, cinnamon or candy. The sound of the breeze through the trees and the leaves flowing around to the ground. The vibrant colors of the leaves during peak season and the beautiful sunsets. The cool air just cool enough to wear your favorite sweater. The taste of the wonderful desserts from your local bakery or coffee shop!
Festivals! There are a few festivals in autumn I enjoy to attend. Pumpkin festivals, apple festivals, fall festivals, etc. It's wonderful to support local businesses along with enjoying the season with your town!
Create cute and cozy outfits and wear them! It's always so much fun to go through my closet and search for clothing that would match perfectly for the season. That white sweater with black, burgundy, or burnt orange pants and that cute, long flannel overcoat to match? Add cute autumn leaf earrings and a beautiful necklace and it's perfect! A cute hat and bag will really wrap it up nicely and some stylish shoes.
Explore your local town or one of your favorite towns. Find out which stores have the cutest halloween or autumn decor and support them! I found wind chimes that are very unique! The base is a pumpkin and dangling from it are metal pieces painted orange with 3 wooden characters. A witch, ghost and a pumpkin. It's so cute and still one of my favorite finds.
Watch your favorite seasonal movies or shows. I absolutely love to watch Gilmore Girls and Sabrina the Teenage Witch during the autumn season with a cup of coffee and some pumpkin spice creamer. I also enjoy watching horror movies or even some older movies from Disney I loved such as Halloweentown or Twitches.

Happy Summerween to all those who celebrate!
