And the waning of the year has begun,

The scent of rain in the air smells like baked cakes,

Morning frost on the grass touches my feet like ocean waves,

In this amber season, the clouds play peekaboo with the sun,

And I prefer my morning fall tea with a warm bun,

I see the leaves whispering their last goodbye to the trees,

They celebrate their departure from life,

by dancing, singing, and humming in the restful autumn breeze.

The Puddle I Saw Across the Kitchen's Window

A Mushed small puddle On that coved pit huddle I saw it across the window Alone, unbothered, in limbo No birds nor worms pitch in From the morning's kitchen Peeked from the Spice Shelf As I made tea for myself The waters seemed very gradient The snow on the edges melted so Like icy rock fragments and pebbles The setting sun shone on it like rebels Reflecting little light with clouds' flow The gray colour of autumn sea - radiant With the orange leaves and sunlit crease In the twilight fog, a golden lining's peace

Falling Back

It's breezier today and the leaves rain down like a soft sigh over the morning commute. In the early sunshine-- weaker now, in November-- later now, after falling back-- the dust brown leaves glow golden. The darkness these days is heavy on me and I wish I could sleep through til' spring alights-- but, begrudgingly there's beauty in changes. They glitter like the piercing winter sky through bare branches. Can I hold onto these sparks? Light a fire to see me warm and safe through the long nights? Are they light enough to buoy my sinking self? If I cast out my palms and catch a small dun leaf, can I scatter away with it to find our rest in the earth? How long will the leaves cling to my windshield as I move forward, despite it all?
