Someone made a comment about how much they liked Riley, the farmer from Falling Ore You/Sink Ore Swim/at least one of the other projects I have coming out next month and I realize I really do not talk about him much so here's some cute piccrews I made of him with some lil fun facts that I haven't specifically said in my fic so far:
- this man is the ultimate loverboy, wife guy for life
- he dated the literal entirety of eligible pelican townies before deciding who made his heart beat the hardest and no one holds it against him
- his gold chain is on him at all times, it never comes off. It was given to him by his favorite uncle who is the only family member he still has contact with
- he and Maru are best friends and he does his utmost to keep her happy bc she is the only person for miles who can do his retwists especially because he is sooo tender headed
- has a bachelor's degree in math and had started his PhD courses when he got the letter that he inherited the farm
- his spreadsheet of spreadsheets would keep even the most battle hardened CPA up at night
- only child with only child syndrome BAD. So nervous about the fact that he's got a whole two kids because how do siblings even work??
- was the first non-family member to give Demetrius a hug in almost ten years and cried for an hour when Maru told him
-might be the single thread holding at least one of his universes together??? No one would know because one of his exes had to go become king of the fish or some absolute bullshit
- tbh he's so relieved to be a side character. Being a main character would require so many more spreadsheets than he already has

Summary: New Year, New Me is Clint's motto for the new year in Pelican Town. This will be the year he captures the heart of the elusive Emily, who he has loved since he first moved to town. When Elliott sees Clint's efforts falling flat, he offers to take the smith under his wing in the guise of a fake relationship, but as time goes on, neither of them is sure they want to succeed in their original mission.

It's got me picturing Clint in such intense steel toed boots that he can't get on tiptoes and being sad about not being able to kiss him even tho it's not that big of a height difference 😭😭😭
My sweet brother drew me this gorgeous scene from chapter 5 of Falling Ore You and I'm SO IN LOVE. I like how it looks like something is about to go down but they won't even kiss for several more chapters 🤣

okay so before i start the sequel to falling ore you i wanted to share some thoughts on the original!! i hope this doesn't come off as weird i just genuinely really loved it and i have so many things to say 😭
okay so like starting off
the characterization was on point for me like oh my gosh. i loved how you wrote elliot and leah and especially their friendship, it's so sweet. i love the way you characterized clint. and normally i am not a fan of the farmer being a huge character but riley was honestly so endearing to me that i really came to like him so much. and all of the little lines from other characters like robin's drunk texting took me out i loved it so much
i love how you wrote clint as a real incel in the beginning and you didn't play down his incelishness and like you had other characters call him out for it and it wasn't just ignored. but you also don't paint him as irredeemable like you did such a good job of showing him slowly building himself from the ground up and genuinely improving as a person
i adored the way you wrote clint and elliot's relationship. like it's just the way you portray them falling in love and while their age contributes to their dynamic and the story nobody ever acts like it's too late for either of them just because they're older which is beautiful. and they were just so sweet and cute and i loved them so so much
oh i also really like how you weren't afraid to write the like icky emotions too like everyone was kinda messy but like it's never just brushed off like i just find it realistic honestly
oh but yeah anyways i just really really loved it so much i have read it like four times now and i have loved it more every single time!!!!!!!!

Every so often my husband asks me how many hits I have on my Clelliott fic and every time I tell him he tells me I need to write a normal book 🤣 how do I tell him that 1600 hits on AO3 is not an audience marketable to a publisher
