Built a new freebox after my last one was destroyed by weather, and the fact that it was made from an old drawer. Built it out of my old solar bike box and only used 3$ worth of components. It has two rows for keychains and two levels for books/dvd/stuff. A few solar garden lights drilled in the side help with visability. Added it to falling fruit and hooe it does well.

just added two locations to this today so i wanted to remind everyone about fallingfruit. it's a collaborative, community driven map of edible forage with pinpoints all around the world directing you to wild edibles growing in your area.

some places have more pins, some have less. if there's not many in your area and you know somewhere that wild forage grows, add it! you don't need an account and can remain completely anonymous while enabling others in your area to collect fresh food that may otherwise not be noticed or enjoyed by anyone, and you may find some spots where you live that you didn't know about before :)

Have people heard of falling fruit? It's a map that marks off foraging locations that are accessible on public land.

It's global and crowdsourced and points you towards FREE FRUIT. (And herbs and nuts and things.) They have an app too but the app costs $2 and you can still pull up the map on your mobile browser for free.

Built a little freebox with my SO as a little weekend project. She filled it full of homemade keychains to give away. Neat little project out of scrap wood, an old unusable drawer and a broken picture frame. Uploaded it to falling fruit, let's see how it does.
