Found one of the most solarpunk spots I've ever seen, in kc. A massive greenhouse complex with an aquaponics system. Tons of animals around inclusing some baby geese for sale. A massive amount of plants with a great selection of native perinials. A rocket mass heater in the wintertime. And a massive overhead grape arbor for summertime. Biodigesters to procude fertalizer and heat. A little library full of gardening books. And tons of spots just to hang out. Owner is a really cool guy. Place is called antioch urban growers if your around kc.

Built my first meshtastic node. Didn't have my 3d printer working so I used an old jar and added some hot glue. It works! For twenty bucks worth of parts I now have a solar radio that can send text messages across the city with no infrastructure.

Went to go check out the free market in Kc. Found a free bike workshop I'd never been too. The 816 bicycle collective is a great spot if you are even vaugly interested in bikes, cycling, or fixing them. Free tools to use, loads of spare parts, and it's entirely funded by donations.

Built a greenhouse out of reclaimed windows and scrap wood, took me an embaresing amount of time but it looks good now.

Painted the greenhouse, might have to start calling it the tealhouse. The joys of discount paint.

Day 5 or 6 of working on the solar bike. The main bike is effectivaly finished. Decided to go lightweight on everything and it was definantly the way to go. On the back is a 24qt milk crate big enough to hold another few bike batteries. That has a thin as possible sheet of hobby plywood above it that is ziptied to the 50w flexible solar panel. And mounted to the milkcrate with hobby screws. The panel recharges the bike through a mppt step up charge controller. The front panel charges just a simple 5v battery pack for my phone. All in all, I think it turned out well.

Built a new freebox after my last one was destroyed by weather, and the fact that it was made from an old drawer. Built it out of my old solar bike box and only used 3$ worth of components. It has two rows for keychains and two levels for books/dvd/stuff. A few solar garden lights drilled in the side help with visability. Added it to falling fruit and hooe it does well.

Today (March 8th) my plum tree decided it was done with winter. It starting blooming and is the first blooming plant I've seen in kansas city this year. It's already host to a dozen bees I've tried to take pictures of as well as one super raggity butterfly I tried and failed to get a picture of. Love to see something I planted making such a big impact to the local ecosystem.
