Hiya, new to serious blogging, you answered an ask about starting up a Companions blog. I was wondering if you had any advice for someone starting up a Sole OC blog. I can't do art and the stuff other OC bloggers can so I'm kinda stumped..

I’m not really sure what an OC blog is, BUT! I can give you some guidelines that I sort of unofficially created and follow for my blog that I believe could benefit any blog that puts out original content!

1. Keep on topic! For example, I run a Fallout 4 reaction blog (with an *ahem* small emphasis on Deacon). Therefore, most of my posts are my writing (or my close friends’ writing or things that people have written for me that are all Fallout 4 centered), answers to Fallout 4 related asks or asks about the blog specifically, and a very very very scant amount of reblogs of things I find so interesting or important that I just have to share them with my followers. Essentially this boils down to living up to the expectations you set with your blog description. If you have a Sole OC blog, keep your posts exclusively about Fallout 4 and Sole OCs. 

2. No negativity on your blog. Period. It’s your blog, and unless you do something that actually warrants an apology, do not post hate, anon or not, or anything that needlessly attacks companions, headcanons, or etc that people hold dear or that would put a damper on everyone’s general experience. And no attacking anyone who sends in asks, even if they deserve it. I promise, just delete negative asks from your inbox. You’ll be a happy blogger this way, and you’ll be much more able to make others happy through your blog. Thankfully I’ve been blessed enough not to receive hate about myself. However, weirdly enough, I have received hate about another blog whose owner I am friends with. It made me furious, and I was so tempted to rip them a new one, but I deleted it. My followers don’t need that kind of negativity on their dash, and I didn’t want to unintentionally send waves of people to the victim’s blog because they had already been hurt enough by the anon already. So, moral of the story is, no negativity.

3. Do not run yourself dry by forcibly attending the blog. Take a break when you need it! Collect your thoughts and refresh those creative juices! All you accomplish by forcing yourself to post is create half-assed content, and nobody wants that. Plus, it makes you miserable and associate your blog with an atmosphere of work instead of play. Make your blog a place you come to when you need to relax or express yourself. Your followers, for the most part, will understand. They want to follow a happy and healthy blogger who posts the best content they can create!

4. Have fun! Communicate with your followers! Reblog with replies to people who reblog your original posts! Encourage other tumblr users! Send messages! Make friends! Of course, be frugal with your personal information as always, but don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to someone whose blog you like and discuss common interests! Not only will interaction enrich your experience and build new friendships, but it might also earn you some recommendations and/or support from other tumblr users!

Welp, that’s about all I have to offer! Sorry I couldn’t help you as far as the specifics of running an OC blog. Maybe someone from my audience can help? What’s say you guys? If you have any extra advice, please send it in via reply or reblog so the anon can see it!

Got any advice for someone who wants to make companion blog?? I've been trying but... I can't even get one prompt in my askbox. I know I can write well enough, but there's just been nothing so far, y'know? Not even a chance

YASSS! FINALLY SOMEONE ASKED ME! :’) I’ve been dying to answer this questionever since I had seen it asked on other react blogs, but nobody had ever actually asked me!

Okay, so when I started this blog, my first post, like pretty much everyone else’s first post, asked politely for requests. 

Days went by.

No requests.

So what am I to do? I have a blog and am perfectly willing to fulfill requests, but no prompts are coming in. I frown, then look out of the window. It’s snowing outside, and it’s pretty. My imagination wanders, and I think of the companions having fun in the snow. It’s cute, it’s domestic, and I think it’s a darn fine prompt. ‘Screw it!’ I say! ‘The first request I fill doesn’t have to be someone else’s; it can be my own!

So that’s exactly what I did. I wrote down that idea in proper companions react format and tagged it as such because it was, and voila! People liked it! And soon enough I had asks showing up in my inbox! The chemical reaction had been successfully ignited, and snowballed into what you see before you today!

That, my friend, is what you do. You have the skill; you have the will. Now show people! Come up with your own unique prompt and own it. Tag it as a companions react, and the right people will come a knockin’ on your door.

Deacon: He had realized right away what had happened, as soon as he slide the hairpiece onto his head he knew. And whats more than that, he knew it was your doing he wasn’t blind. He even knew it was April Fools day, I mean he couldn’t pass up on the antics himself but what got his off gaurd was how initially sly you had been to even get this close to his stuff anf manage to rig it. He spent a good chuck of the day just trying to resist the urge to itch, and not give you the satisfaction of the prank. But it was unbearable and by noon he had torn the wig off his head and into the dirt. “FOR FUCK’S SAKE!” He swore, stepping the wig into the rocks under his shoe. “I can’t even fucking think of a way to prank you back with this thing on my head.” He admitted, scratching at his bald scalp vigorously. “You better be ready, cause the pain train in coming.”

My Sosu Anna is a HUGE daydreamer, often to the annoyance of her companions. She'll zone out during conversations and walk right into danger without knowing it. She just shrugs when people comment on it, figuring they're still her friends and hasn't died yet, so she must be doing something right! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Push off a cliff: Benny is a power-hungry, murdering butt-face, so off the cliff he goes!

Kiss: (ERgh, I couldn’t really choose between Charon and Boone on this one o~o) I guess I’d go with Charon because I am so sad that he was practically brainwashed into fulfilling contracts that go against his own moral beliefs. Plus, I think kissing Boone would be insensitive since he’s still grieving over his wife.
