“ What do you mean you’ve never been to an apple orchard in the fall? It’s the only correct time to go in my mind, Spence,” you say, trying to convince your boyfriend of two years to come with you to Minnesota for the week leading up to Halloween. “The apple orchard I want to bring you to has a pumpkin patch and a corn maze and fresh baked pies and bread and all sorts of other great stuff. And there are freshly picked apples! And before you ask about taking on cases, Rossi told me we won’t be called in for any reason so we can have the time to ourselves.” You said, sitting on his desk and swingin’ your legs slightly. “It’ll be fun and we both have some vacation time we were told by the director to take.”
“But I like giving out my vacation to other people and letting them have a few extra days off and also I’m from Las Vegas, we didn’t have apple orchards nearby,” Spencer said, frowning slightly as he ran his fingers through his hair.
“When was the last time you took a vacation, even if it’s only a weekend. It’ll be fun and I'll let you pick however many pumpkins you want as long as you leave some for the kids. Who wants to have a chance. And I know where all the big ones have been the past couple of years. And one of the local theaters runs Halloween themed movies and has ones that aren’t super scary running before 8 and after 8 it gets really scary I’ve heard.” you say, jumping down off his desk and walking over to yours to actually finish the paperwork that was laying there half done when you decided to go try and get Spencer to come to Minnesota for your favorite shared holiday. Last Halloween the two of you had dressed up as Mulder and Scully, and had to work a case, while not being your favorite thing to do because your suit was made from 100% wool and you were in New Mexico, you two had a good laugh at the end of the day when the rest of the team finally realized. After you finished up a local case and you and Spencer were on the way back to Quantico to do paperwork did he gave you an answer.
“I’ll come to Minnesota only if you agree to come to the scary movie marathon, and I promise once we get home I’ll let you watch all the Disney movies you want,” he said, as you pull into the parking lot, parking and then the two of you go through the building back up to your desks to do paperwork. After what felt like forever, you used your phone to book plane tickets, and you were planning on keeping the window seat to yourself.
After the two of you finally got off the plane, you decided to go back to your house and get ready to go apple picking and pumpkin choosing. “I don’t think I'll actually need long underwear under my jeans, it seems like I'll get super hot,” Spencer complained, and you just chuckled and shook your head.
“You're going to want them once it starts getting closer to dark Spencer trust me, I've been doing this since I was a baby it's it's not fun when you get cold,” you say, throwing two pairs of gloves in the folding wagon, and feeling make sure the small box was in the zipped pocket of your very puffy jacket, just to make sure. “And they’re showing It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and it's a tradition to watch it with hot cider and fresh pastries.”
“Okay fine I’ll go throw on the long underwear and while I’m doing that can you bring the wagon out to the car?” You smile and nod your head, bringing the wagon out into the trunk of your car. Pretty much as soon as you finished, Spencer came out and picked up his pant legs, showing off the long underwear that he put on and dancing a little bit, causing the both of you to laugh.
Once the two of you finally got to the apple orchard, you pulled the wagon out of the trunk and you hear Spencer already wandering towards the entrance, drawn by the scent of freshly baked apple pastries.
