Wanted to share an early exercise on Valentine’s false eye.  It’s not quite pure gold but a geologist friend helped me pick out a good stone to use as the base.

I get why people who lose an eye choose a glass replica because they don’t want to freak anyone out or make it a big deal but if I lose an eye I want my replacement to be made of gold 

it would, after all, be a golden opportunity

I’ve decided that in the even that I lose one (1) eye, I will use both a false eye and an eyepatch. In the eye that’s missing, I will place the false, while a 1-way eye patch will be placed over the other. In the event that somebody asks, I can remove the eyepatch. Have they the bravery to ask again, I can remove the false eye, and use the patch as a sling. The impact of the false eye, I am hoping, will answer all their questions. The only problem I’ve thought of thus far is the difficulty in aim with a newfound lack of depth perception.

The Eye of Ericnox

The Eye of Ericnox: Where to even start with this? This is probably one of the most beastly items I have ever created. This item has come about after nearly a decade of RP and tweeking over those years. This is the most current version, and has been scaled way back from how it used to be.

Powers and Abilities:

Sight: It allows him the ability to see. This is it's most basic power.

True Sight: Illusions, displacement, and effects that mimic those do not work on Ericnox. He has the ability to see past them passively.

Soul Gem: Ericnox does not keep his soul within his body. Way too risky. His soul is locked away within the gemstone, protected by powerful magic to hide it's presence. Any attempts to access this are very tough, borderline impossible, but can still be done by beings or magic of intense nature.

Aura Sight: An ability he has to activate, he can see the MAGICAL auras around people. He cannot see a persons personal aura of emotions and such.

Mind Lock: Due to his history of being controlled by others, several of the runes on his eye are designed to prevent mind control of the magical side. Alchemic/Chemical control do still work on him however, and users of mind control can still control him, but it is seen as being a waste of energy, due to the fact that it takes too much effort to keep him under control.

Several years ago, my mom got me this case of sample eye colors used by real Optometrists! They're squishy! :) Not sure why I took so long getting photos... they’re the pride of my eyeball collection <3
