“Girl 'Husband' Admits Guilt,” Montreal Star. March 14, 1942. Page 3. --- Antoinette Arsenault Pleads Guilty to Fraud Counts on Arraignment --- Dressed in the men's clothes in which she married another girl here two weeks ago, Antoinette Arsenault, 22, formerly of Ottawa, appeared before Judge Marin in arraignment court today and pleaded guilty to charges of falsifying a birth certificate and of using it to commit a fraudulent act. She will be sentenced March 18.

According to police, the girl posed as Andre Arsenault, the name she used on her registration card. She and the girl she married worked in the Bouchard munitions plant at Ste. Therese for two years. Her "wife" is Rita Ouellette, 19-year-old New Brunswick girl.

The case has been turned over to the Quebec Attorney-General and other charges may be laid depending on his decision.

What is transpiring here is that the Democratic candidate who won a safe blue seat in North Carolina on a pro-choice platform, and then switched to the GOP to give them a supermajority for their anti-abortion law, was a Republican plant all along.

Playing to Ma Strengths

I was not blessed with Prince Charming looks     So I made sure to focus on my books

In terms of gains and guns,     I have none So instead I bulked up on quids and puns

    I figure that your type tend to have a certain physique I doubt I fit the description, but I make up for it with my mystique

    You don’t fancy a partner under 6ft in height I think I can justify you making an exception to your rule,     Yep I just might Because now you will never be short of a tower of strength or someone to be proud of and look up to

    Your taste in complexion and skin is very well known I’m neither ebony nor ivory but I’m just as savoury      I’m milk chocolate brown, I’m sure you can settle for that middle ground

You know that deep-pitch baritone, commanding sort of voice?      Yeah, unfortunately I don’t have it in my genes so I can’t rejoice But I’ll use what I have to serenade you with compliments like I had only one choice      Shower you with words of comfort and advice, reassurance and insight

I am not much of a singer either      Cause I can’t hold a key, a note – Or even a chord for that matter      But I can show you all the poetry I wrote When I was bored, about how you make my life better

      I have two left feet handicapped with no sense of rhythm So I can’t really dance       But if embarrassing myself makes you happy and keeps you smiling I won’t need a second chance

     I don’t have millions waiting to inherit Or a trust fund to cash in and profit      When it comes to money, lots of it I don’t have it But what I have is a kind heart worth its weight in gold       So I’ve been told And God’s got me too, so I know I’m rich in spirit

     Right now I don’t have a car or vehicle to my name But nuh watch nuh face, we still going places just the same

      I can’t probably afford courtside seats But I can get you a new pair of cleats      And we both gear up, head to the park and play Till we can no longer stand on our feet

     I can’t guarantee Box Office tickets to the summer latest movie premiere But I have a HD quality stereo and know a friend who owns a projector       We can create our own little stay-at-home mini-theatre Pop some popcorn, invite our closest friends over and have a great time right there

      I know you love flowers the most so here is what I propose A lack of funds is not a sufficient reason for me to relent      When I have a green thumb and can easily grow your favourites in my garden So you can decorate your apartment with the sweet aroma of an orchid or a rose

     Till I can get you the cruise you deserve, let me take you down to the pier To go on long walks, talking about our dreams and sharing our worst fears       Really get to know you as a person while we watch the sun set And find out what happened earlier at work to get you upset

     I may not have the picture perfect family But I don’t know anybody who does?      I know for a fact that they will all love you back unconditionally Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Uncle, Aunt as well as my cuz

    I heard that unless I’m pulling a 7-digit income I’m out of your zone     It’s just a matter of time though till my own Starts looking like the contact list on your phone

     A companion who has a successful career is your preference I know, I noticed, that’s why I’m working on my strengths      Setting goals and aspirations, full of ambitions and career driven Hustling in silence to one day achieve them

      I may not have the preferred traits of your ideal candidate Nor do I possess the requisite attributes that you consider as boyfriend material       But trust me, your faith in me is well placed and you will have no regret I’m destined to realize my potential so I’m confident that everything else is immaterial

      Maybe I’m not as experienced as those who went before me But that does not phase me, doesn’t deter me        I’m a fast learner, I’ll learn on the job so just hire me And your happiness can be my salary

        I can only be myself and no one else

For my part, I won’t deceive you in the hopes of winning your heart

      Nor do I want to gain your affection under false pretences

That’s why I can only play to my strengths

       I can’t and won’t be someone I am not

I have to be true to you and true to myself whatever the consequences

       In the end,

All I am is only a person who really loves you incredibly a lot.
