Someone somewhere is having a good laugh.. after my cramping yesterday I started bleeding again it was only enough to be noticeable when I wiped but it was bright red and then lessened to brown spotting by the end of the day. Not spotting today and my test this morning was negative 🙄

I’m just going to change my dr appointment to a check up and have her test my levels and talk about my cycles cause this is an absolute mess

Medical tests have two types of accuracy; the true positive rate and the true negative rate. (They are confusingly both described by terms that start with “S”.) Neither directly answers the question "If the test comes back positive, whats the chance I have the condition?” That’s the Positive Predictive Value.   The Positive Predictive Value can be surprisingly low even for accurate tests.

Well... it was a false alarm..

Me being me I was extremely skeptical about that positive test. I took two more the next morning and they were both negative and that evening I bought different test and I got a negative on the test I took that night and this morning. Also AF showed up last night and I’ve been cramping off and on all day..

This is what a false positive looks like.. this picture was taken not even 10 minutes after the test. The line was there nice a clear. I was excited! My sister and I hugged and cried together. She witnessed this absolutely wonderful moment that was a lie. I’m not sure why it happened but it did. I will definitely be using more trust worthy test from now on.
