Ty looks up from his AP Biology textbook to glance at the clock on the wall above the teacher's desk. He shakes his head and looks back down at the book.
"No, you're not." He replies, leafing through the pages of the book, pausing only to skim over the paragraphs he'd highlighted in bright orange. He doesn't look at her. "Homeroom starts in ten minutes. You're actually pretty early, considering."
She gives him an annoyed look, which he completely misses because he's still fucking studying, and hasn't even bothered to look up at her. "No, you dimwit," she whispers, urgency and irritation clear in her tone, "I'm not late late, I'm... I'm late."
For the first time since she's walked into the crowded classroom, Ty raises his head to give her a weird look. "For what, Sti?" His expression goes serious for a moment before, "Wait, are you high?"
Stiles makes a noise of utter exasperation, throwing her hands up, the limbs flailing slightly, and she twists her body in her seat so she's seated normally, with her back to him. She takes a moment to take a deep breath before turning around again to face him.
"Well? Are you?" He asks again, looking at her expectantly.
"Oh, my god, wh-? No, you dunce, I'm fucking-" She sputters, before giving up and just grabbing his textbook from in front of him ("--give me this, głuptak--"), ignoring his noise of dissent.
"St- wait, I have my AP Bio midterm second period today, I need to-" Ty protests, trying to take it back from her as she uses her elbow to shoo him away. "Stiles, plea--"
"Shut up, Ty, I'm trying to find something." She cuts him off, looking up only for a moment to shoot him a glare before going back to flipping through the textbook pages angrily. Her leg bounces up and down as she does so, and it' obvious that she's agitated with her twin's misunderstanding of what she's telling him. "This is a Bio textbook," she mutters to herself, "how many pages do you need--" She cuts herself off when she finds the pages she needs (they have colorful diagrams of uteri and growing fetuses on them- she shudders internally), before putting the book back on Ty's desk, pushing it towards him, her index finger on the passage she wants him to read. "I'm late." She says again, her voice softer, less aggressive than the times before.
As he reads, Ty's eyes widen in a way that would be almost comical in any other situation besides the one they're in right now. Realization dawns on him, and after he's finished reading, he looks up at her with this horrified look on his face. Loudly enough to be heard over the clamor of the classroom, he blurts, "You mean you're pregnant?!"
The whole classroom goes silent. Stiles can feel the eyes of every one of her peers burn into her back, and it only takes a split second for them to start laughing.
"Fuck," she whispers, twisting her body so she's sitting normally again. Avoiding any eye contact with her classmates, she picks up her bag from the floor, slinging it over her shoulder, and in the next second, she's out of the room. They're still laughing when she's out of the building.

Ty finds her fifteen minutes later, when she's sitting alone under the bleachers, back against a wall. Her legs are crossed, and her hands rest in the empty space between her thighs. She's wearing an almost faraway expression, and her eyes are shining with unshed tears. He sits beside her, and they don't say anything to each other for a while.
"Sorry 'bout the yelling." He says quietly after a few minutes of silence.
Stiles shakes her head, "'S fine." She whispers, still looking straight ahead of her. "'S my fault. If I weren't so fucking reckless, we wouldn't even have to be in this situation. I just- yeah, you probably shouldn't've been that loud, but... at the end of the day, it's me. There's no need to be sorry."
His hand moves to her knee, shaking his head. "Don't say that, St-"
"Stop it." She snaps, pushing his hand away from her knee. "Stop... defending me, okay? This is on me. I was being irresponsible. Me. I'm not blaming myself because I feel guilty, I'm blaming myself because I am to blame. Stop pretending like it's not."
He nods, backing off. They're silent for another few minutes, until she breaks the silence.
"Dad's reaction was worse, anyways." She whispers, squeezing her eyes shut as if it would push the memory away. "Before, like, when I would lie to him about the whole werewolf thing, he would give me this look, like he didn't know who I was, who I'd turned into." Her voice cracks slightly, and she stops for a moment. "Today... was the first time that he looked like he didn't even want to anymore. "
Ty looks down at his hands. After a moment, he says, "There are options, Sti. You don't have to go through with this if you're not ready."
Stiles scoffs, turning to look at him. She gives him a bitter smile, shaking her head. "No. There aren't options. There never were. Not for me, anyway."
His eyebrows furrow in confusion, and she continues.
"A few months after I stopped eating, my periods stopped, too. Nobody noticed that I wasn't eating for six or seven months, and I guess it permanently fucked up my cycle. When I finally recovered, my periods came back, regularly, but they were so much more intense than they'd been before- some kind of hormone imbalance or something, I guess. I went to the doctor's behind yours and Dad's backs, and she told me that because of the eating disorder, I wouldn't be able to have kids of my own."
She takes a breath before looking away from her brother, looking straight ahead again. "'If you ever got pregnant, it'd be a miracle.' That's exactly what she told me." She brings her hands up to cover her face, because she just can't cry right now. She won't let herself. "I want kids, Ty. I want my own kids. If this is the only chance I'll ever get to have a kid that's my own flesh and blood, I... I can't..."
Her words catch in her throat, and Ty is immediately comforting her, wrapping his arms around her. Tears roll down her cheeks, and she rests her head on his shoulder.
"It's gonna be okay," he whispers, rubbing her back soothingly like their mom used to. "Everything'll be okay."
"How d'you know?" She whispers back.
"'Cause I'm you big brother and I know everything. Now, stop asking questions and let me comfort you."
Stiles can't help the teary laugh that escapes her.

In a world teeming with ordinary people, working their nine-to-five jobs, studying for their SATs, living their normal lives and never having to be afraid of what makes them extraordinary, there’s an abnormality. A genetic mutation called Quod Excellens Ingenium has made itself known in human DNA. Rarely expressed, most of the world is oblivious to it, unaware of what it is and what it can do. Out of the seven billion people that inhabit the world, only a few tens of thousands express the Quod Excellens Ingenium gene, each possessing different remarkable abilities- abilities which, if controlled, can be used for the world’s benefit.
In the April of 1984, Professor Alan Deaton, known for his studies on genetic mutations, opened the Beacon Hills Boarding School For Gifted Students. Here, he would teach the youth of the world who express the mutation and have such abilities how to control them, use them for the greater good, and ultimately lead relatively normal lives. The school was kept mostly secret, hidden from everyone in the world except those who know how to find it.
Until now.
On the New Year’s Eve of 2014, in Times Square, New York, a woman fell off the roof of a building that overlooked the New Year’s celebrations. One of Professor Deaton’s students rescued her, using his ability in front of the thousands of people in the streets, and the millions who were watching on the televison. People like him were forced out of hiding, and ordinary people were afraid of us. People with abilities they can’t help aren’t humans anymore. We’re a subspecies, an abnormality. We stopped being humans and began being mutants.
We’re in hiding now. We can take no risks, because humans are scared of what they don’t know, and when they’re scared, they attack without thinking. So we stay at school. Until we know it’s safe.

↪ THIS VERSE IS EXTREMELY OC FRIENDLY THIS HAS BEEN A PSA
↪ Older characters can apply as teachers, tutors, etc.
↪ Please don’t godmod. If you have any questions about the verse, please ask me and don’t hesitate to give suggestions.
↪ I’m sorry, but this isn’t first come, first serve. I’ll look over the character info form and, if you’re accepted, I’ll add in your character’s information and message you.
↪ After you’ve been accepted, I’ll ask you to make a bio. It doesn’t have to be long, but it’s just easier for the other people in the verse (especially me, sorry) to know exactly who they’re dealing with.
↪ This, my friends, is an all mutants AU. If you want to somehow involve a mutation that has lycanthropic tendencies, have at it.
↪ I won’t be an evil dictator and stop you from shipping certain things. Ship whatever you want with who you want because it’ll be weird and awkward if it’s forced.
↪ Those applying as students should know that I’ll be assigning roommates when everyone’s been accepted- this is a boarding school after all. If you have any preferences, please let me know.
