Fanclasses bcs why not, we got, vigilante and hermit:

Hermit: class that travels with/through their aspect.

Vigilante: class that guards with/through their aspect.

They both are observant classes, that recolect key points of infomation and deduce things (just that in different ways!) the sherlock holmes of classes one may say.

For example:

A hermit's aproach to obsevation would be up close and with experience, observing things from where they originate.

Meanwhile a vigilante's aproach to observing would be cautious and wary, from far away or just from a safe place (these guys have great vision!!).

ive been thinking about what i would do if i could design my own god tier classes so ive created: the fool and the emperor

the fool becomes their aspect/through their aspect and the emperor commands their aspect/through their aspect

The emperor is the active class of the pair, they would be someone with a leader-type personality: confident, willing to make hard decisions, thinks they know better than everyone else. They would have a hard time swallowing their pride and letting someone else be in charge.

The emperor class would fight by “commanding” their aspect or “commanding” through their aspect - creating rules for their aspect to follow, ordering their aspect to do specific things OR creating rules for their teammates/enemies to follow using their aspect.

For example: the Emperor of Doom would command rules, fate, and death. They would create rules for their teammates to follow, and would have a final say in their actions, being able to set limits that others would have to abide by.

The fool is the passive class, they would be a go-with-the-flow kind of person: laid-back, willing to let others lead, changes their mind easily. However, this doesn’t mean they’re dumb - the fool would be extremely smart, knowing how to embolden (or enrage) others.

The fool class would fight by “becoming” their aspect or “becoming” through their aspect - allowing their aspect to overtake them, physically becoming the embodiment of their aspect OR reaching their full potential learning from their aspect.

For example: the Fool of Hope would become hope, invigorating their teammates through the power of belief, or they could literally BECOME hope, tapping into a huge well of cosmic/celestial power.

So continuing from my Revelation idea, I made a list of Vallite classes

Songstress: Female Lance user. Ability Sing (Upgrades to Operetta, Siren)

Bard: Male Lance user. Ability Sing (Upgrades to Musician, Conductor)

Hart: unisex Stag beastshifter. Beaststone (Upgrades to Stagstead)

Dancer: Unisex Sword user. Ability Dance (Upgrades to Blade Dancer, Fire Tamer)

Griffin Knight: Unisex flying ax unit. (Upgrades to Griffin Lord, Vanguard)

Nymph: unisex Healer unit. (Upgrades to Sylph, Fae)

Actaeon: unisex Archer unit. (Upgrades to Vanguard, Hurstwic)

Seidr: unisex Mage unit. (Upgrades to Völva, Talmudic)

I made two of my own “Fan Classes”

They belong to a group called “Protecter Classes” and Basically use their aspect to protect others (hope - Keeping people’s spirits up, Life - making sure people don’t die, etc.) and they also protect their aspect (the time protector would make sure those time hoppings are neat and orderly or else)

So yeah. I just think they’re neat.

What do you think about fan aspects or classes? I personally don’t like them, because the 14 classes and 12 aspects we have are broad enough to fit any personality or power set

I mostly haven’t engaged with fan classes and aspects, so I’m not sure I can say. But there are circumstances under which I can imagine them being crafted in some pretty interesting ways, provided enough depth and foresight. This is particularly true for the Classes, I think–I can see a different story describing the same rough existential behaviors through different Archetypes, and I think that approach has a lot of room for character depth.

For example, it seems to me Maids and Sylphs are linked to Fairies in Homestuck. This is because they “Make” their Aspect, and Homestuck describes them as “Made of” their Aspect in turn. That roughly translates to both classes coming off as sorts of Elementals, embodying their Aspects very intensely. But you could parse the concept of an elemental any number of other ways–you just portray any “imaginary” being strongly related to a concept. Creator Goddesses, Angels, Demons, w.e–seems to me like all of that parses pretty easily.

So I could see a class that has the same fundamental verb and active/passive alignment, but slightly different cultural connotations and presentation that comes along with a different name. That’s an approach I think I’d likely find interesting. And that’s just one example–I can think of other ways one could tease and complicate the system. 

The potential is there, I think. I have a friend who’s thinking about writing on this subject in more depth, so I’m hoping I see that happen :B
