Hi Gina! I just went to Louis’ Red Rocks concert and I’m processing it all, wanted to describe my experience because I loved it so much.
I think I was wondering if it was going to feel less queer friendly in the crowd. I know people were worried about that. it was the total opposite from my perspective — I actually thought FITF felt wayyyy less queer by comparison, don’t know how to explain it. There were so many pride flags, so many rainbow outfits, TONS of niche Larry references, like people in Louis’ polari shirts etc. Felt like everyone I talked to was a Larry or an OT5, saw lots of Harry merch in fact. I remember at the FITF shows I attended it was kinda a gamble to mention Harry or Niall or someone and get a positive reception, seemed like you had to work out what fandom space people were in and it was 50/50. This didn’t feel 50/50.
Majority of the fans around me in the crowd were openly queer and literally carried the vibes of the show, like they were full energy, knew every word to Send Me Under (not everyone did, people were either completely still during that song or fully rabid losing their minds). The Aces were SO GOOD and def added to the feeling I described.
Full disclosure I’m straight but this being the environment is important to me and a big part of why I’m in Louis’ fandom in the first place, so I was really happy to feel it at Red Rocks. Wanted to give my perspective for anyone considering going to shows and wondering what the vibe was (I realize my point of view might not reflect reality or everyone’s experience but it’s a positive data point).
That’s so beautiful to hear. And it sounds like it was such a great show, as well. I’m so happy you got to experience that! Thank you for letting us know ❤️
