🤔 well, if I were to choose, I'd say Urd. I mean, just look at his design, his cool outfit and attitude despite having little emotion to show, it gives a vibe of being mentally mature.

And Rigr, well, despite being a skemmer, his outfit doesn't do justice for him

So I've seen you bring your fan side Despair in to a few of your fics, and I was wondering... what's he like? And what's your favorite fic with him in it?

Well…. starting off, I think my favorite fic that I’ve made with him in it… Is my hanahaki au called Flowers On My Lips, where it was revealed that Despair at one point DID suffer from hanahaki, but in order to save himself he carved out his own heart and nipped his romantic feelings right at the bud (pun intended), it’s also kinda implied that the side he had feelings for regretted not liking him back after that. So to be, it just gives Despair more… badassery to his name, that he was willing to do something like that.

However… if I had to say what he was like in general…

He’s like that one cat that fell over into a pool of water and then decided to make it your problem by hissing and spitting at you if you tried to help, and that’s if he didn’t like you.  

If he likes you though, he’s fiercely loyal to whoever happens to be able to stand him and whoever he happens to be able to stand. 

He doesn’t show up all that often when it comes to the light sides, mostly cause he can’t stand being anywhere near Virgil or Patton. But in the off chance that he does have to show up, for whatever reason that happens to be… he’s an asshole eighty percent of the time. Lashing out whenever he damn well feels like it, and not particularly caring about who gets hurt in the process.

It’s for that reason, that it is very hard for him to make alliances with Logan, Roman, or even Thomas against Virgil and Patton. So he’s not one that’s being listened to all that much, even though Logan had tried more than once to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his input for Thomas. 

That being said… he is very self-destructive, often times picking or scratching at his skin when he’s feeling particularly depressed or just angry with himself or others. He had a tendency to push others away when Thomas is supposed to be grieving, leaving him all by himself to deal with the emotional baggage of whatever happened. 

He doesn’t like being alone though, in fact, it’s his least favorite thing in the world. 

Mostly because he can’t deal with the thoughts that run through his head in times of his deep valleys of depression. He’s very susceptible to those thoughts, and if no one is around to stop him, he’ll act on them nine times out of ten. 

He’s constantly changing his hair. Between dyeing it, cutting it, growing it out, shaving it all off, or just shaving half of it. It’s not unusual for his hair to be one way when they all go to bed, and for it to be totally different when they wake up. They’ve all given up on trying to guess what kind of hairstyle he’s going to have next, except for well... anytime that he has a depressive episode, it’s almost a guarantee that Despair will show up with all of his hair shaved off. None of the others really know why or understand it, but they don’t need to. 

That being said, he loves to draw on himself, the back of his hand and his palm are usually what he scribbles on the most with the abundant resource of sharpies that he has.
