I want to write, but I’m also behind on reading a bunch of fics and a ton of authors updated over the weekend, so I feel spoiled for riches right now and don’t know what to do first.

Reasons I shouldn't have any kids

Because kids with names like Garrus, Wrex, Liara, Tali, Mordon, Bakara, Javik, Legion, Grunt, Kasumi, Zaeed, Kerrahi, Atheta, Thane, Joker and Benezia and bound to get picked on, and the school would get upset at all the collateral damage that occurred when they retaliated using well practiced small unit tactics while screaming "Shepard PUNCH!"

*backs out of fic, crushed with disappointment*

*resists urge to send author a 'I don't even think you tried' star*

Seriously people, how hard is it to use the fucking shift key.  Capitalize a word every now and then.

Things you don't want to do

Surfing old LJ's for a fandom I've not looked into for years and I find the treasure load of bad mistakes for fanworks for a ship I quite like. There is much to be learned about what should not be done with a fanwork from there, lessons of what not to do from 2007, just a selection.

- Make a fanvid with so large a watermark that it distracts from the scenes you are trying to watch. Hint: 1/8 of the vid resolution is probably too much.

- Post a fanfic with no link breaks. Ever. Run-on fic? Run away! Or at least that's how my eyes react, no read = no review.

- Have a fanmix cover with a picture on the back that is predominantly the same colour as the text of the songs you apparently don't want me to fully know before I decide whether to download it all. Good job there.

Yes, I am a bit bitchy today. I have almost zero patience and I'm dearly wishing the ship in question got a better lot with fanworks. Time to see what comes up on Ao3.

I find it incredibly frustrating that the dashboard doesn't show timestamps on posts.  How the hell am I supposed to know how far back to go when I've been at work for 10 hours and need to catch up on tumblr?
