How do I know it’s Patton’s Birthday?
Because I have seen three stores that have used dad jokes as advertising.
It truly is a Punbelieveable day!
Since I have anime on the brain now... Sanders Sides head cannon!!
Roman and Patton watch Ouran High School Host Club together!
Logan and Virgil watch Death Note together.
Roman and Patton both love the show because of course it’s hysterical, but also it’s a little more light hearted then some of the other animes that they’ve seen.
It combineds a sense of friendship, family, and love that Patton enjoys, but also the over the top actions of the main characters in efforts to be chivalrous to the fair men and women of the shows that Roman loves.
Logan and Virgil aren’t excited by the really normal cutsie anime that Patton and Roman like.
Virgil needs more excitement and he likes a little more gore for his tastes, he doesnt like the overwhelming sunshine the anime seems to have.
Logan simply doesn’t appreciate the over the top feelings conveyed by almost every character in the show. Not to mention he’s not a big fan of the sunshine it brings in either. It always ends the same way. Happily. And that simply isn’t realistic.
So, they end up watching a favorite, death note together .
Logan enjoys the battle of witts between the main antagonist and the protagonist, every move is calculated. He enjoys that it is as realistic as an anime can be considering it had death God’s in it, and he enjoys that there are rules that are in place for how the death note works, that way it isn’t just random and that there are limitations.
Virgil of course enjoys the dark tone of the anime, but he also enjoys the fact that it isn’t simply black and white when it comes to the moral questions that are asked by the anime. He also enjoys watching the sardonic humor of the death god to make the banter more entertaining.
Patton doesn’t like seeing so much emotional manipulation that goes on in death note, not to mention the killings and just gore in general of the show.
Roman doesn’t take to the show either because he sees things very black and white, Light is evil to him and he can’t stand to see the protagonist being a bad guy in his mind. He also believes what that anime needs is a good princely character to lighten it up.
Sometimes the group will break off for the evening just to go watch their respective shows.
Logan and Virgil hang out in either the living room or Logan’s room with blankets a plenty, and the lights off (even though Patton always turns on the kitchen light just to make sure they’re okay).
Logan enjoys the silence of the room with the exception of the show, he likes the break from all the action and loudness of The right brain duo, and just to enjoy tranquil time and silence that hanging out with Virgil provided.
Virgil loves the chance to bury himself in a blanket with Logan. While the anime heightened his alertness and fear, Logan always seemed to be calming in the sense that he didn’t freak out, he didn’t jump at chaotic scenes, and he was always very present in that time no matter what was happening on screen.
One Of the best things that they did was look for the inconsistencies of Lights plan, in L’s plans, and how they could circumnavigate this issue. They also make predictions based on different events and place calculated bets on what was going to happen next.
Patton and Roman both enjoy an evening in Romans room.
Roman’s castle and prince aesthetic certainly goes with their anime, and they enjoy doing little things while they watch.
Roman tends to draw each character when inspiration strikes, and he loves sharing his ideas and thoughts with Patton without fear of being judged for them.
Patton usually creates different bracelets, flower crowns, and other things like that based on different characters. He then makes a game where roman has to try and match each respective item to each character.
Already There: Part 1
Well, I was planning on making this a single post.... but then tumblr decided I talk too much. I’ll post this first part! Hope you all enjoy?
Warnings: crying. Missing people. Loneliness. (I think that’s it!)
Paring: analogical💙💜
Logan heard the door unlock as he slid the hotel room key in and out of the door with a quick jerk. He walked into the dimly lit room and put his briefcase on the chair and threw his jacket on the white sheeted bed. The room was nothing to marvel at, the cream walls were stained with dust and soot that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for ages. The forest green carpet definitely added to the run-down feeling of the room, creating almost a mossy floor to go with the already depressing feeling of the room. He could feel the coldness of the lonely empty room around him as he laid down on the bed staring at the white ceiling. Logan knew that his immense feelings of sadness and loneliness weren’t because of the cheap hotel room that he would be put up in for three weeks, but the lack of his family with him. It had only been two days that Logan had left for this negotiation that he would have to attend for the new company he worked for to try and convince a foreign investor to try and fund such a costly construction or architecture that he had made himself. This was one of the first major breakthroughs in his career in his life, he had worked for this moment for three years. But in that moment, he wanted nothing more then to be home with the people that he loved. He took a deep breath as he looked at the time, it was only 5:00pm here, but he knew that the time difference would place his family at 7:00pm their time. He sat up as he swung his legs over the side of the bed with a few squeaks from the box-spring below him. Luckily, Logan had one life source in his room that might be his glimmer of hope to hold onto during this trip. That life source was the telephone in his room. Before he would let himself do anything else, he just wanted to call his family, he wanted to just here their voices one more time, just for a moment. He dialed as quickly as he could almost breaking his fingers to get the number punched in. He sat waiting anxiously, trying not to fidget as he listened to the phone ring as it waited for the recipient to answer the phone. Finally, it stopped ringing and he heard a small voice that he had fallen in love with so long ago. “Hello?” he heard his husband Virgil squeak. Logan felt his heart immediately swell with a feeling of warmth as he heard the delicate tone of his husband’s voice, he was completely shocked when he was able to keep himself from bursting into tears. “Hello my starlight” he said Holding the phone with both hands close to his face, worried he would drop it how excited he was to hear his husbands voice. Logan then heard a surprised, happy little giggle come from the other side of the line, “Oh my god Lo!! Oh, my goodness, are you okay?? How was your flight? Are you safe? What’s going on? Where are you?!?” Virgil started firing off questions faster then Logan could respond. Logan felt a smile creep onto his face as he listened to Virgil ask more and more questions, he loved hearing Virgil’s voice, and he already knew that Virgil’s anxiety must have been high ever since he had left the house. “Hi honey, I-I’m okay. I promise, my flight was fine. I just got here to the hotel room. I just… I just wanted to hear your voice again, I miss you so much. I miss you both more then I could ever describe” Logan admitted. Logan heard Virgil clear his throat over the phone, it sounded as if he too were trying not to let himself cry just as much as Logan was. “I-I miss you too Sweetie, I’ve missed you ever since you walked out of that door. I-I’m so glad you’re safe” Virgil stuttered over the phone. Logan felt his heart wrench as he listened to the love of his life struggling just as much as he was being so far away. This was the first time Logan and Virgil had been apart for more than a day in 5 years, he didn’t know how he was going to last. “H-how is he doing?” Logan asked trying to clear the lump in his throat he already felt building up.
Virgil sighed as he moved his head away from the speaker, Logan could barely make out what he had mumbled. Logan heard Virgil’s voice come back to the phone. “he’s – he’s doing okay, last night was really rough on him. He seems to be doing a lot better today, but he still really misses you. I think that he’s actually trying to be happy for me, ha, can you believe that? He’s trying to be happy for me, the adult.” Virgil mumbled into the phone. Logan gave a little soft chuckle and shook his head “Hey, he learned from the strongest person I know, he’s always been our happy kid.” Logan said trying not to breakdown for his husband, if only he could be that strong. Logan suddenly heard a high-pitched squeal come from the background of the call Logan smiled knowing that voice from anywhere. He listened to the battle between his husband and his son play out until it was quiet on their end of the phone line. “D-daddy? Is that you?” He heard Patton squeak as he listened to the static of Patton readjusting the phone to his face. That was the straw that broke the camels back, Logan immediately felt a stream of tears fall from his eyes.

Virgil: Sorry Pat, it doesn’t look like there are any sand dollars left.
Patton: Why cant the ocean just make more so everyone can have some?!
Logan: And cause so much inflation that it would kill the oceanic economy? Inevitably bringing down the entire sand government? Jesus Christ Patton start thinking straight.
Roman: to be fair, none of us ever are.

Patton’s eyes scanned the park, trying to take in each face as they came and passed through. He glanced at the free-standing black clock that read 5:10 on it. Where could he be? That was the only question that came to Patton’s mind he paced the cobblestone path, spinning the daisy he had bought in between his fingertips nervously. Okay, relax Pat, he’ll be here, Virgil would never just leave you here, you know him better than that. But did he? What if Virgil wasn’t the man he said he was? Or worse, what if he showed up, took one look at Patton and… Stop it, he wouldn’t do that. Patton tried to keep his mind distracted by the lovely scenery around him. He looked over at the park fountain that sat as the center décor of the entire park the crystal-clear water caused a series of rainbows to dance in the shadows on the ground the paved brick designs that outlined the circular fountain just seemed to emphasis the magnificence of the fountain, and made it stand out more. He looked over at the sectioned off areas that held flower beds. There were so many colors present in the fields of flowers, it would make a painter’s head spin. Patton loved everything about this place, from the rolling fields of grass, the paved areas for everyone to play chess, to the beautiful flowers, especially the purple flowers. Virgil would love those…
Patton’s mind couldn’t be distracted, he was worried. He looked back at the clock again, it only read 5:12. He stared at the clock intensely, as if that would make the man show up. Patton bit his bottom lip out of nerves. His eyes lit up as he had a thought. Maybe someone saw him, maybe he’s looking for you right now. Patton scanned the seemingly popular park for someone he knew had been there for a while. He finally spotted a fellow with a hoodie up sitting on the oak wood bench, he seemed to huddle in the corner, as if trying to hide from the rest of the world. He seemed nice enough, maybe he could ask him. He dusted off his baby blue button-down, and adjusted his cloud white rimmed glasses, and made his way to the man on the bench.
He sat down at the farthest end of the bench, hoping the man would notice the new activity around him. No such luck, he just continued to focus his attention on the loose string on his hoodie. Patton cleared his throat and opened the conversation with “Nice weather, today right? I haven’t seen a day like this for ages”. Patton was finally able to catch the odd guy’s attention “Y-yeah, its nice.” He stuttered back to Patton. With a smile of victory, Patton slid across the bench close enough, that the man took a little slide back himself. “My name is Patton! You can call me Pat though, most people do. What’s you’re name?!?” Patton asked with enthusiasm. The man immediately clammed up again, as he pulled his knees into his chest. Drat, maybe a little too much. Patton smiled more softly, as if he were dealing with a cornered animal like at the shelter he worked at. “That’s okay, you don’t have to give me your name yet. Do you think you could help me though? I’m looking for someone, and I’m worried I missed them”. The man didn’t speak, he just continued to work on the one loose string on his jacket.
Patton couldn’t give up though, this guy had been here the whole time, if Virgil had shown up, he would have seen him. He had to keep trying. “See I’m looking for this guy, his name is Virgil, see this is him” Patton said as he handed the man the photo. It was a picture that Virgil had sent him when they first started dating. Virgil had vibrant purple highlights in his bangs that melted into his brown hair. In this picture, he only wore a grey t-shirt that had “Woke up like this” written across it and blue skinny jeans that were ripped in the knees. He had the sweetest face that melted Patton’s heart like a slab of butter on a hot July day. But those things didn’t even compare to Virgil’s eyes. His eyes were a vibrant purple that would take anyone back. When Patton looked into Virgil’s eyes, he felt like he was staring far into space, looking at the millions of galaxies each with a new corner of the universe to explore. Patton felt that if he starred at the picture for to long, he would be like an astronaut running out of air, his breath being taken away with every glance.
As the man took the picture Patton continued to provide exposition to his long tale of their blossoming romance. “I found him over Tumblr, he was always writing meaningful poems that were always so articulate, so smart, and thoughtful. It’s part of the reason I fell in love with him.” Patton told him as he nervously tucked his hair behind his ear. He got lost in thought for a minute thinking of all the times that Virgil and Patton talked to each other. He thought about every late-night conversation that would turn into early morning conversations. All the times that Virgil had comforted Patton when things had taken a turn for the worse at the animal hospital, and they talked about what their lives would be like when they finally met. He shook his head bringing him out of his daze. “an-anyways, we we’re planning to meet here today at five today, he always called me his little daisy, so I brought a daisy… see!” Patton handed the man his daisy. He was hesitant to hand the man his daisy, it was like the last hope he clung to that he would see Virgil today. The man reached for the daisy and gazed at it for a while, twirling it in his fingers and playing with each individual pedal. Patton sat there squirming in his seat just itching to take the flower back. The man finally gave the flower back as Patton Eagerly grabbed for it. “He, he was going to – I mean he is coming with a star on him, like a little cardboard cutout? It’s because I always call him my star since he lights up my darkest hours and sends me over the moon.” Patton said feeling a smile play on his lips.
The man shifted unevenly in his seat “I-I don’t know, I mean he looks the same to every other guy here…” he spoke. “I’m sorry friend but maybe you haven’t looked at the picture, there is nothing common about him, in looks or in character. He when you see him, you could spot him out of a sea of people, you could get lost in his eyes for hours and only feel like you’ve been gone for two minutes. And his character? Out shines even the brightest star in the sky! Including the sun! He’s sweet, and kind, and really smart, he speaks his mind but also respects your feelings. He can pick you up from the lowest cavern of despair and make you feel like your walking on air! He puts up with me on a regular basis if that gives you any indication of what a saint he is.” Patton added. The man gave a quick scoff and shook his head, “Do you really believe that? I mean, you can really think that much of him. I mean, it sounds like he left you here, because its 5:35 right now and I still don’t see him around” The man spat with a bitter tone. Patton looked at the picture of Virgil. He starred at those dark galaxy eyes and shook his head blinking the tears away. “Yes, I believe it with every fiber of my being. I know it might sound stupid to you, but I love him. I know in my heart Virgil wouldn’t ever just leave me here. I know he wouldn’t. And while people like you scoff at the thought, I just smile and feel bad for you, because I know that one day we’re going to be walking through a park just like this, hands intertwined while people like you just be stuck here, staring only dreaming for something just like this.” Patton calmly responded.
The man went silent. He sat there on that bench, sitting so still, like he was trying to just melt into the background and no one would notice him. He let out a sigh and turned to Patton, hoodie still up, but enough to face him. “D-do you think that it would hurt you if he didn’t show up? Like if he saw you and then got scared and left? What if he just didn’t want to hurt you, or face your rejection?” He inquired. Patton thought about it, he had been considering that himself. What If Virgil took one look at him and decided that he didn’t want Patton? What if he never hears from Virgil again? He made a little sniffle as he tried to keep himself from crying at the thought “He just… He just has to come. I-I don’t know what I would do without him. I would never reject Virgil, and he of all people would know that. I would never leave him. We said we were in this together, that nothing would change that. Now I can’t speak for him but I know that I meant every word.” Patton admitted.
The stranger shook his head he whispered something like “Jesus” under his breath as he reached for Patton’s hands “Patton? I had this friend, he kinda looked like that guy in that picture. He wasn’t hideous, he had looks. But then he was in an accident. He was in a fire that completely disformed his face. Before that accident, he was the kind of guy that would have swept you off of your feet and carried you away. He would have been confident enough to approach a guy like you without a doubt. But now he spends his time on the web, at home, hidden from the world. He hides like the monster he knows he is. When he does meet anyone, they all say the same thing. They say they’ll love him forever, they say they’ll love them no matter what happens. But whenever he takes the chance with them, they run away at the sight on him.” Patton was puzzled by the man “why are you telling me this sir? What does this have to do with me?” Patton asked.
The man kept talking as though Patton had never asked a question “close your eyes and just listen to me for a second.” He instructed. Patton closed his eyes slowly he felt the man’s hands hold his. “You really love this Virgil guy? Would you know him when you saw him? Can you picture him in your head?” The man asked. Patton bit his bottom lip, “I-I think so, I mean I’ve seen him in his picture.” He responded. The man let out a sigh “No, I mean do you think that you would be able to recognize him as soon as you laid eyes on him? And know that he was the love of your life?” he asked. Patton slowly nodded, “I think I would”. The man took a shaky breath, “Okay open your eyes” he instructed. Patton opened his eyes. He watched the man take his hands away from his own, pulling back his hood finally revealing his face. He looked badly hurt. His face was covered in scar tissue that would never heal, also revealing every scratch and bruise he would ever receive. He looked like he had been through more then his fair share of accidents in his life, but still managed to hold this certain beauty to him that Patton couldn’t explain.
The man met Patton’s gaze “Now tell me Pat, what do you see?” he asked. Patton was confused by this question, what did he mean? “Well, I see you sir” he replied. The man’s dimeter completely changed, instead of combative, and sardonic, he suddenly seemed sorrowful, and almost crushed. He scoffed as he shook his head “Yep, that’s right, you see me, because I’m the only person here. Sorry your guy didn’t show up. Sucks to be hurt like that.” He retorted with a break in his voice. He jumped off the bench and started to walk away, tears streaming from his eyes. He threw something away in the trash can… It was a silver star. Just as he started to pull his hood up he felt a hand latch on to his own. He turned around to see Patton holding on to his wrist, not letting go.
“P-Patton, why are you- “he was cut off from the sudden sensation of Patton’s lips, cascading over his own. The kiss was soft and gentle, yet he could feel the passion radiating from Patton. He wrapped his arms around Patton’s neck as the taller man pulled his hips closer. Time seemed to stand still around them, if not for only a second before they pulled away. “I may not be able to recognize a face, but I would know those eyes from anywhere…. My little star” Patton cooed smiling. Virgil felt tears starting to flow like a waterfall down his cheeks. But he was no longer crying tears of pain like he had many nights, hoping that someone might love him. Today he was crying tears of joy, he was crying because he had found him. He had found Patton. He buried his face into Patton’s chest trying to hide. He finally looked up into Patton’s electric blue eyes he laughed a little wiping a tear from his face “In this garden with millions of flowers, I finally found the one for me. My beautiful daisy.” He said rubbing his thumb over Patton’s cheek. He stood on his tippy toes and pulled Patton in for another kiss. He closed his eyes, wondering if this was a dream. He had finally found someone who didn’t care about how he looked.
Someone who loved him for him.
Roman was in charge of real or fake anime today... you cannot convince me otherwise.
