Fortunately, the quirk-cancelling handcuffs offer enough scope to make eating possible without too much discomfort. “You ain’t getting bailed out. But nobody fucking bails on me, got it?” The way Bakugou pokes his chopsticks towards the bars would be intimidating if his hair wasn’t ruffled and he hadn’t gone out of his way to be here. It’s getting close to midnight now - he could be anywhere else, he could be asleep at home. But regardless, he has chosen to be here.
It's terrifying, when one person becomes the answer to every question.

Todoroki is good at asking for what he wants, and Bakugou is good at refusing. Unfortunately, Bakugou is not so good at maintaining that refusal in the face of superior firepower.

Katsuki moved in with Shouto right out of high school, they’re both killing it as heroes, and most importantly, they’ve got this roommate thing down to a science.
It’s not that Katsuki can’t stand being without him, but maybe things are just better when Shouto’s around, and they’re good together, like all decent roommates should be.
So on the rare occasion that he’s gone, it’s pretty fucking awful, and now it looks like Katsuki might be approaching a future where Shouto doesn’t want to be here at all, and it’s Katsuki’s own fault.
If only he knew what he did to piss him off like this.

After the League of Villains incident, Katsuki is just trying to keep it together. Things are slipping through the cracks and he's on his hands and knees trying not to let any of his responsibilities out of his sight. Most of the time he can't bear to be touched, especially from behind or anywhere near the back of his neck. Which means his regularly scheduled haircuts are absolutely out of the question. It's fine, he's coping, he's dealing with it—his hair grows out long, longer than it's ever been, and that's fine too.
Until it isn't. But Todoroki being in the right place at the wrong time in the communal boys bathroom as Katsuki is shaving his entire head in a fit of late night mania might just be the solution—one that spans years—that neither of them were looking for.

Now a grown man, Katsuki remained on the outskirts of the kingdom, in a small village where he had taken over his parents' forge. So far, he had managed to keep his head down just enough not to be recruited into arming King Enji's misguided war effort. But it wasn't long before far too many eyes began to notice the blacksmith that forged his masterwork weaponry within dragonfire.
Shouto had very few memories of his childhood before he had run away from his home of grandeur and wealth in the arms of his eldest brother. He and Touya, now brandishing the name Dabi, had drifted from town to town Shouto's entire life, never staying long and always starting fresh. But these days, Shouto felt like he had no idea what they were even running from anymore.
Now that they had begun to settle in a small town near the kingdom's borders, Shouto couldn't help but be curious about the local man that seemed to have befriended a dragon.

This lasts for a fairly solid period of time, until one of their last nights back at UA, when Katsuki fucks up inconceivably, and actually goddamn kisses the bastard. It goes like this: Todoroki never says a word about it, so Katsuki doesn’t either. If they’re pretending it never happened—or if, fuck, Todoroki somehow managed to forget—then that’s -- fine. Fucking peachy, even. Doesn’t ache at all.
