To be honest, I live by this rule: if someone is half your age + 7 years, they are in dating range (provided you’re both over whatever the legal age of consent is in your state/country/commonwealth/federation/planet)

So if you are 40, then half that age 20 + 7 = 27. Go for it. You may be older than them, but you’re both adults and you’re in the same generation anyway so.

5 Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?So stay with me, this one gets complicated. Stucky. Yeah you read that right. Stucky. It’s not how you think it is though. What’s ruined to me is that I live in fear of what content I produce. I worry about my stories being too “real” or too “dark” or too “unlikable” because they don’t follow common loved tropes. They hit harder. I like exploring deeper waters with it in a safe space for me. I like sadness and yes, I find certain horrible tropes refreshing because I need them. Obviously I still ship it. I still produce things for it. But I’m always fearful. Policing has gotten oppressive and abusive and it’s taking the fun out of it for me. I’ve asked friends if I should post certain stories on anon because I’m so afraid of the backlash. How is this fair? Something I do in my free time? Something that should be fun? Yeah, so parts of fandom have ruined Stucky for me, though I’ve not been chased off yet.
