SPICE: An MXTX Food Zine

The first edition of the MXTX Food Zine is out now and can be downloaded for free! It features 25 delicious recipes and 34 new artworks from across all three MXTX fandoms, including art, fanfiction and themed recipe cards! And it looks like there might be more to come:

We've just opened an interest check for the second round of the MXTX Food Zine and would like to spread the word. The zine will be free, 100% digital, and open-entry (aka, no application process) and is tentatively scheduled for a fall 2023 release; all the info is in the most recent post (under the pinned post)

hey! i got some really sweet and great anons about what’s going on rn including important stuff that i didn’t know about AI, and i want to share just for anyone else who also didn’t know it, but i understand 100% that most people are here for fun blorbo content and not the stuff going on rn, so moving forward, anything related to this will be tagged #fandom happenings, so please absolutely feel free to filter it!

You’re probably getting a lot of messages right now and I’m really sorry to be contributing to that

I started following you way back because of Witcher stuff and later especially noticed you for the selkie stuff. And I really enjoyed that.

I’m not into tlou and I don’t see me getting into it any point, but I still enjoy your blog for the occasional Witcher content, rooting for your move or whiskey shenanigans.

That being said, I have and will always be incredibly impressed by he speed at which you write new fics but it would never have crossed my mind to accuse you of using AI writing. Something I’ve always enjoyed about your writing process is seeing you throw around ideas, sometimes with input from other people and then posting snippets that show how deep into the process you are. I always think it’s fun to see the snippets with your comments followed by a link to the finished fic. If any person did that while using AI writing I would honestly think they’re insane for literally letting an AI write the fic, then planning a timeline to first post snippets from that fox and later the finished fic with reasonable time between.

Without wanting to sound rude: I literally cannot imagine you sitting there making a schedule of when to post several snippets as a tease.

So all in all, even though I haven’t read any of your tlou fics and skip most of your posts in that fandom, I wanted to make sure that you know there‘s definitely people not accusing you out there. I’m fairly sure you’re getting a lot of similar messages at the moment but since I can’t be sure I didn’t want to take the chance because I don’t want you to think there’s just negativity right now. I’m really sorry you’re going through this right now but I’m sure you will get through this with a lot of people at your side. I’m sure you have people to talk to and I kinda want to send this anonymously because I would feel awkward otherwise but I also would like to offer that if you need someone to talk to you can like ask on your blog in reference to this ask and I will be back in your inbox not on anon?

and yeah, that's part of why i'm also ??? about the accusation of me using ai? i'm assuming it's coming from the fact that they don't follow me (which is fine! i'm clearly not their cup of tea!), but anyone who follows me (and has followed me, all the way back from witcher time) can literally watch my fics happen in real time?? if i'm using an ai to do all of that? holy shit? i'm a fucking mastermind?

but also a mastermind? playing a dumbass game?

bc that's the other thing: you guys see my ideas and know my WIPs. it's a running joke rn that stuff like the prison au is floundering while brain goblin buzzes about everything BUT that. half-step was in the same place for a while until bg got her ass in gear to finish it at the most inconvenient time for me. if i was using ai?? for (i guess) fandom social power??? why would i not use it for the fics people REALLY want? i literally subjected you guys to like 7 mama ellie/pawpaw joel fics in a row bc that's what bg wanted to write while people were like "please. please. a morsel of Not This??" if i was using ai to write stuff, it would be stupid to NOT use it for the stuff people are really excited about.

Hi! I just read your post about other people on tumblr accusing you of using AI to write your fic and I wanted to say that it is not possible for them to 'detect' the use of AI on your fics. Many people are goig through this, specially college students. What happens is: if you go to an AI, say Chat GPT for example, and write a piece of text of you own writing and ask it if it wrote it, it WILL say yes. Get a text you wrote in 5th grade, pencil on paper, write on ChatGPT, and ask it if it wrote it, it will say yes.

There's no way to detect AI unless it's very obvious, like when the AI 'talks' in the middle of the text. Many college students are being accused by professors of using AI, it's actually a big problem

I'm sorry you're being accused too, specially by people who clearly don't understand AI, not even a little. For what it's worth, your fics are actually pieces of art and very clearly human, lol
