Hi everyone! I am BDB, a huge fan of Mass Effect and Dragon Age and a somewhat unhinged fandom nerd. I bop around writing fanfic and engaging with fandom stuff, so if youâre into that, by all means join in!

In my last dream, I cut out your eyes. I don't think you know how insulting it is to know that everyone underestimates you, only to then fail at the last moment because you overlooked some small detail in a chorus of moving parts. Well, I've done it again, and the worst of it is that because of the pity that you hold for me, you never even once thought that this critical task should go to someone you trusted to do more than save his own skin.
You always tended to miss the bigger picture, even though you've always achieved your targets. At least now you have more than one person covering your back.
Thanks to @serialsforbellara for the tag! No-pressure tags to @biowaredisasterbisexual @broodwoof @handsignals @hyperions-light @juniper-and-dragonthorn @mageofquandrix @nessa-fang @skullypettibone @the-sparrohawk @tricksy-hobbitses-ao3 to share five lines of something you're working on. :)
we don't get to interact very often, but you've always been kind about fic i've shared and that's always meant a lot to meâand i'm sure i'm not the only one who feels that way c:
Iâm so glad that Iâve been able to bring a little joy and love to your fics, and I hope we get to interact more! â¤ď¸
I so appreciate the effort you put into interacting in this fandom! You're so encouraging and kind <3
Thank you so much, anon! đĽš
Iâm so lucky to be part of this fandom, and I am constantly blown away by how talented and passionate and creative everyone is. Itâs less effort than it maybe seems like, I think, since I enjoy everything so much.
well i think of you mostly as three raccoons in a trench coat, first of all. Likely setting fire or committing other crimes. Also being cute đ
you're a bright spot on the dash, and i remember when i first found you i thought you were so cool and completely unapproachable (because you're so cool!!!) but now i know you're also one of the friendliest and most welcoming! And i think it's very cool how much work you put in to support others and make them feel seen <3
Your picture of me is an accurate assessment of me as a person. I am, in fact, three raccoons in a trenchcoat with a penchant for fire and a surprising openness to crimes, given my profession. đââď¸
And wow, gosh, thanks so much! I am so glad you arenât intimidated by me now, but Iâm kind of honored that anyone ever was? Is that weird?
Probably.
Iâm so thrilled that your experience is that I make people feel seen. I always hope that I can. You are absolutely wonderful and I am so grateful to you!
you are a bright light in this fandom. thank you for everything you do âď¸

Thank you, so much, kind anon!! Iâm fortunate that there are so many people in this fandom who are so welcoming, so passionate, and so kind (to me and to others). I appreciate you!
I tag you! Alternatively, you see this post and take my open invitation/tag. If you want to be added to the tag list, reply to or reblog this post letting me know!
You either reblog this post and add something you're working on OR you make your own post with something your working on (and tag me in it) and I'll share it back here and leave a comment! It can be any kind of WIP you want, and it can be for any fandom or original work you like!
That's it, but please make sure to keep it before midnight! I do not keep track of these posts after the day they are published. If you miss this one, don't worry, you can always jump in next Thursday!
Also, if you're looking to share work that is finished/currently being published, please do so during my Bio(ware)feedback event, which takes place every other Saturday.
Of course, the taglist is non-binding lol, so feel free to skip whenever you want, and if you decide you'd rather be taken off, no hard feelings, just lmk!
And Iâll give also my many thanks to folks that tagged me in WIP Wednesday: @sandcastlekings, @woundedsoul12, and @zennihilation thanks so much!

Some TVJ I was noodling on idly below the cut!
She and Rana had crossed the bridge, questioning the soldiers stationed there on either side. The bridge guards were, they had learned, a tightly knit group. Assignment to the bridge was light duty, but required specialized training â necessary to activate the bridgeâs defenses or destroy it entirely when called upon â so its defenders tended to stay in that role as long as possible. That had, fortunately, meant they could discern who was on duty during Elgarânanâs attempt at domination quickly and easily.
Unfortunately, however, none had seen the escaped Venatori, at least as theyâd been described. But many people, the guards had pointed out, had fled across the bridge. So that they hadnât seen those specific people didnât mean they hadnât gone that route, only that theyâd blended in. The docks by the military district had been similarly unavailing. Theyâd lost two days tracking those leads down to dead-ends.
Which left Dock Town tomorrow, and Neve had a meeting with Elek â who had refused talking to Rana â marked in her calendar.
The Threads didnât typically dabble in the slave trade, or bringing people in, but smuggling accused criminals out? That they had some experience with.
Rana leaned her head against the wall with a soft thud for a moment before turning Neveâs way. âAlright. Iâm going to get some sleep before tomorrow. You,â she said pointedly, âshould too.â
âAre you mothering me?â Neve asked, amused. She stopped writing in order to look up and smirk at her partner.
âHardly,â Rana snorted. âYouâve barely slept since youâve been here. Coffee isnât a substitute for rest, Neve.â
âMmmm. Iâm not sure I agree,â Neve mused, more to needle the other woman than anything else. Rana shook her head in disbelief.
Thank you for the tag @zennihilation! I'll pass this tag onto @mythals-whore, @gingervitus, @biowaredisasterbisexual, @maagisterpavus, and anyone else who wants to and hasn't been tagged in this yet <3
Share your favorite romance scenes that you have written. Kisses, dramatic confessions, tragic partings, tearful reunions - whatever you like.
I'll share a couple of my favorite moments, if I may~
This one from Un Rayo de Luz:
"So that's why you've been paying more visits to Cafe Pietra recently," she said, warming a little at the word our. "I'm sure the proprietors have been happy to entertain the whims of a Dellamorte."
"The proprietors love me," he protested, moving to stand between her knees.
She laughed a little, tucking a loose lock of hair behind his ear with her free hand. Resting her palm over his cheek, she sobered. "So do I."
His eyes searched hers for a moment and she felt stab of guilt for having ever allowed him to doubt she did though that time had long since passed. Then he turned his face, first kissing her palm then taking her hand to press his lips to her knuckles. Her heart turned over as he did, feeling, instead, what words would have failed to convey so succinctly.
"I have not yet shown you the best part," he said cryptically.
Tilting her head, she set her sangria aside as he tugged her off the counter. She slid clumsily, her body pressed to his as she clung to him for balance. Briefly, she forgot her curiosity as she fought not to wrap her arms around his neck and pull him in for a real kiss. Heat and want flooded her veins as he kept her upright, his hands bracketing her hips to steady her until she found her balance. He swore under his breath as she swayed, but amusement sparkled in the warmth of his deep brown gazeâwhich really did very little to help.
Glaring at him, she used his arm to straighten up, pursing her lips when he wove his fingers through hers with a barely suppressed grin.
From Go Gently:
Before he could think better of it, he reached out, cupping her face with his hand, his fingers wrapping around the back of her neck. He didn't pull her closer, but his breath caught when her eyes widened all the same, her pupils dilating. Her skin was softer against his palm that he'd expected. He wasn't sure why it surprised him, but it did. It wasn't the first time he'd been surprised by the softness of Leithe Thorneâhe doubted it would be the lastâbut something about this time made him ache. He couldn't help rubbing the pad of his thumb over the delicate skin of her cheekbone as she held herself impossibly still. He recognized the look in her halla-gold eyes: she was going to bolt.
So, he dropped his hand, swallowed the regret that welled up when he did so, and took a step back. Leithe cleared her throat, pushing away from the wall, just as a fight broke out across the room.
"I think that's my cue to go," she said, her voice falsely bright. The corner of her mouth ticked up as she tucked a strand of auburn hair behind her ear. "Before someone thinks I started it."
The way she hesitated to leaveâlike she didn't want to, like she was looking for a reason not toâdid something funny to his breathing. His thoughts swam as he looked at her, limned in torchlight, the backdrop of the party falling away.
When he grabbed her hand, this time he did pull her closer. She stumbled into his chest, her hand pressed against where his heart thundered. He released her only so he could use both hands to hold her face and she let him, her eyelids lowering as their noses brushed. His eyes dropped to her full lips, rosy from where she'd pressed them together, now parted in surprise; Davrin counted heartbeats, trying not to kiss her, but desperate to.
OH SO @amoaliquis THINKS THERE AREN'T KNIVES INVOLVED IN JUAN'S PROPOSAL??
...this part is so close to the end if i can just get through this dellamorte slog...
âTheyâre so mean to me, Teia,â Juan whined, âAfter all I do for them.â
âPovero bebè. Iâm here now and theyâll be nice to you.âÂ
âThey got married,â Viago said flatly.
Rookâs eyes went wide. âYou bastard.â They couldnât sit up fast enough before her fist was wrapped in their collar, tightening and choking them against their own shirt.Â
Her blade was against their throat as they struggled in their chair. âHow are those not the first words out of your mouth?âÂ
âThey canât answer you if youâre like this,â Viago pointed out.Â
For WIP Wednesday, I'm going to do something a little different than usual. I'm going to be very brave and share my progress in learning to draw.
It's a slow-going process. I'm mostly tracing over references/screenshots and (attempting to) color them at this stage. I started with emoji bases, and am doing screenshots as well now. I haven't gotten brave enough to free hand very much at all yet, but anyway... here's what I've done so far, under the cut.
Emojis featuring: Jericho Mercar, Veryl Ingellvar ( @hedwigoprah ), Juan de Riva ( @zennihilation ), Elek Tavor, and Aleksi Aldwir
And screenshot/photo tracing featuring Philip Strand, Jericho Mercar, Veryl Ingellvar, and Juan de Riva.
Very slowly making progress! Hopefully will be able to do more that doesn't involve tracing sooner rather than later!
This is so awesome! I love the emojis, and the tracings came out well! And way to go for being brave enough to share them; many thanks for the Wednesday treats!
Tagged by @amoaliquis but when she says 'soft tag' i imagine that meme of being hit by a kettlebell.

This is from the little Bellara Proposal microfic I wrote a while back which is just what it looks like when two people with anxiety are in a proposal.
She could feel their palms sweating. They were on one knee, eyes cast down to the ground as they cradled her hand. She couldnât see their face. Were they happy? Shouldnât they be happy?
