I’ll admit I’m a little suspicious of the timing of the attacks on Sydcarmy blogs here aligned with this idea that Syd is now too good and not an active participant in the going ons?
While twitter has become Sydcarmy rage-bait land and now here are these same folks sounding similar suddenly wanting to play over here?
I’m 100% on board with criticizing Carmy (a lot of people have been doing it all along) but acting like Syd is a helpless angel with no agency is not great either? When she literally said she’s been his accomplice the whole time and that’s also been driving the plot?
She’s every bit as complicated as Carmy. And also the timing aligned with that other ship freaking out and people saying they love Sydcarmy but trashing Ayo on social media?
And only wanting to enjoy the ship if it’s intentionally toxic or tragic only now but not wanting to show them working through anything while blaming the characters and not the showrunner specially for maybe lacking the nuance and calling for, say, more writers of color in the writing room?
Like he did in S4 with Worms? Is that suddenly off the table now and it’s just doomed so the boring non-love white interest can swoop in and somehow magically not be so “tragic” in the end?

Just be on the lookout for the bait Sydcarmies.
I guess if to say anything, it would be to focus on Syd more and what you want to see and not center only Carmy and that one side character who is not a lead whose fans keep gnashing their teeth and scratching at the door.
