My most hated love triangles in media, out of order and little explanation
Gotta be honest, my biggest problem is actually not that it´s two brothers, obviously not a trope i like but my biggest issue is how uninteresting it manages to be, how male centered and how bland the whole ordear was.
Zoë, Pim & Marcus from Free Rein
Didn't see it complete because it was SO annoying the whole show and the love triangle was part of it. It´s bland vs blander, dragged too long despite being too obvious who the endgame was going to be.
ps: disliked it so much i was distressed Freddy was going to play Kaz and fortunately he proved me wrong
Any LT made by Rick Riordan
Some worse than others but overall i think most of them are forced just for the sake of being a LT and the reason i had to put them all: the resolution sucks. The only one which i didn't hate the resolution was Nico´s one sided crush on Percy, it felt personal enought for it to feel like someone moving on. Anything else is obnoxiously "oh silly there was never a love triangle" and i wish RR would just stop trying to force love triangles only to then pretend he is too good for them.
What was even the point of him? Other than making Jules completely unsympathetic on the matters of her relationship with Rue. He is so forced there, it makes me feel he is some Sam Levinson self insert which is wrong to me to say but hey, people say it about female writers all the time.
It ruined Cassie´s character and the fandom overall and it took SO much of the season, it was tiring. I don't know if they trying to do a ship war like why would they do that with NATE as center?
I will however concede ONE grace: there is self awareness neither side is good and stablishing how fake Nate´s love for them is. At least they went in their way to clarify that if Nate followed his true desires it would be Jules. (who fortunately doesn't want his ass) yet it doesn't worth how annoying it was, how it assesinated characters and how manipulative it felt.
The concept isn't bad, the development could have been good, and sometimes is BUT i really hate how Prim´s death was used as a device to resolve it. If it wasn't intentional it still feels that way. I also never was fully sold on other stuff but i´ll leave it like it. Overall it didn't worth and it would be better if it didn't exist.
It should have ended on season 2, why are they dragging it on season 4? I really hate that post s2 serves no purpose other than "team s vs team j" promo.
Oh boy, i have no words on how badly executed this was. Like, it almost looks purposely bad. It´s the biggest character masacre i have ever seen. I should just leave it like that
Okay, at first its annoying but not more than average teen dramedy. But Quinn and Finn cheating on Rachel and Sam was like...what? I actually get Quinn cheating on Sam (i like her but come on, she´s never been the most faithful of the bunch) but i don't see why she would simply go and pursue Finn specifically for no reason. And on Finn´s side it makes even less sense, like to me F1nchel is a TERRIBLE ship but even to me it´s baffling that he just drops Rachel when he supposedly loves her.
Both guys annoying, exist only to fill the love triangle quota, not a lot more to say. It´s just a waste of time.
Thankfully no longer on season 2...
...Nerdflix just can't live without it´s share of shitty love triangles
Olivia, Fitz, Jake from Scandal
Not a lot to say beyond...i fucking hate Fitz
I get the idea of Fiyero, the idea behind the difference in his connection to both of them. The problem is mostly comes off kind of sexist, he is more a prize than a character and the framing (and him) come as insanely hypocritical. The fact that I strongly dislike him doesn’t help.
Fionna,Phelix, Fennel,Hunter
I don’t remember if I already did a more extensive opinion of this. The Fionna-Phelix thing did started as interesting as a break up but eventually ended up dragged too much to the point of an emphatic journey becoming condescending towards her. For the other parts not a lot to say, everyone involved who isn’t Fionna barely feels like a character.
Tita, Pedro,Rosaura from Como agua para chocolate
Chifla a tu madre Pedro Muzquiz
For people who don’t know : the dude was in love with a sister but her mother didn’t let them be together so he married her sister to be close to her
If someone knows more I accept suggestions
