Hollywood doesn't accurately portray America. Anime doesn't accurately portray Japan. BBC shows don't accurately portray the UK. Bollywood doesn't accurately portray India.
Most media is made to portray an idealized version of a country, made by rich people out of touch with the "peasantry", or made by people trying to influence the culture.
