A/N: I am expanding my horizons! I have written prompts 80:  “ How do you get your skin to be so soft?” and 90: “Would it be okay if I borrowed your sweater?  It smells like you…” for Illumi from Hunter X Hunter! Illumi x reader (HXH)

Your relationship with Illumi is a quiet one. Normally to anyone else Illumi was devoid of emotion, well nonetheless he is but out of everyone in this world you are more likely to make his lips curve up into the slightest smile, a smile that is almost impossible to catch unless you are paying attention or know him well enough to catch it. Illumi may not hold you with affection as often as you may want but that makes the moments that he does much more important. Illumi won’t hug you in front of his family but when the two of you are in private he will hold out his arms and might even have that almost nonexistent smile so that you can know that he is either willing to hug you or somewhere inside wants a hug.  

This is one of those moments. Illumi held out his arms to you and you instantly ran into them so now the two of you are laying on your shared bed, chatting to bide the time until Illumi will have to leave again. “How do you get your skin to be so soft?” Illumi questions with genuine curiosity while gently rubbing your cheek.

“I dunno.” You respond with a chuckle. “Maybe it’s the products that your mom makes me use.”

Illumi nods without blinking. “Makes sense.”

It’s blissful silence from there, the two of you just lie in your bed and occasionally make idle chatter until it is time for him to leave for his next job. “Bye.” Illumi says as he stands.

“Wait Illumi!” You say as you sit up.

“Yes?” Illumi questions as he tilts his head in curiosity.

“Would it be okay if I borrowed your sweater?  It smells like you…” You ask so Illumi nods and takes off the sweater that he was wearing and holds it out to you so you take it.

“There you go.” Illumi says simply as you take the sweater.

“Thank you.” You tell him so he nods and walks to the door.

“Illumi.” You say once more so he looks at you. “I love you.”

Something about his expression seems to change a bit for a split second before he turns to the door. “I feel the same.”

Illumi leaves but you know as you hold his sweater close that that was his way of saying ‘I love you.’ and that you are will forever be happy with him.

Time for a riddle. While their it is not considered canon, there is an official connection between the twins, Blendin, and Titanic. Do you know it? It only exists in one Gravity Falls book that alas is not canon. If you’re too lazy to look it up or don't have the book, just check the link.
