i think clark is kind of a really nice asshole who thinks he's pulling one over on everyone constantly and he's like. the way i concieve of him is a small town guy that's great to get a drink with. the kind of guy that went to a state university on a scholarship for football AND for the school newspaper.
he can't get drunk so he's ur designated driver. but also, he is going to spend the whole time u are getting drunk making fun of u and u can't say shit about it bc he's being so damn nice being ur designated driver.
he just loves like, being sarcastic and witty and keeping things to himself to have something over u, but it's okay if u find out bc it's not really that bad? just kind of a dick move.
he's the kind of person who will see you overshare and be kind & gentle to you if he thinks you deserve it but if ur like a billionaire or a landlord he'll be like 'wow that sucks lol' and write a buzzfeed article about it and he was recording it also for his news video essay youtube channel and he's going to tell everyone now : )
like clark isn't overly sweet. he's just friendly. he's a good ol salt of the earth kind of guy. but the kind of grown ass man with some BITE to him, the way he was originally intended to have. and most of all he has a good head on his shoulders---lots of common sense, a strong sense of right & wrong (which includes things that are ACTUALLY wrong like being a billionaire etc, not just ‘killing people’ in self defense or to save other people tho superman never kills because he views that as a power balance and an abuse of his power. clark took a philosophy 101 course at kansas state and he was like ‘its pretty obvious the trolley shoud go over JUST ONE person bro).
i just see those panels / cartoon moments of clark going 'santa is REAL and SANTA WRAPPED MY PRESENTS' and i just roll my eyes because he should be a JEWISH ICON FIRSTLY and secondly he's a grown ass man he doesn't fucking believe in santa clause!!!! fuck you hayes code!!!! flanderdization man i s2g.
but anyway i think its honestly really good that clark doesn't view kara OR conner as his kids despite being older than him and its really funny and interesting LOL. he's just like 'wow cousin... sorry to hear about that. or glad that happened. i refuse to contemplate what your existence means for me. do you want to stay at my mom's house with some cows? that made me super well adjusted and cool personally.'
