“WOW, this is like... extremely formal,” Ophelia said slowly. She was starting to be glad she let Kol pick out her dress. “And this happens once a year?” She whistled. “That’s a lot of dresses.”

“This event is lovely wouldn’t you say?...-” he peered around for a moment, unable to help the stoic way he often fell into place at events like this..though admittedly he felt no cause for celebration with the fact being that the families who had claimed to found the town had merely discovered a place founded long before they were around.

       some might describe keanu as shy, merely because he wasn’t the chattiest of people unless he knew someone well enough, but a big part of that changed when he had alcohol in hand. parties as fancy as this one seemed to be also weren’t his scene, but he was trying his best to just blend in and have fun. he looked down, holding onto bright pink, sparkly dog collar in his hand, his head tilted as he just started talking to whoever was next to him. “it’s hard to find something important to you that you don’t care about throwing in a tube that you’ll never see again, hoping that... aliens, or whoever decides to open it up, is impressed by it, and doesn’t just toss it off to the side.” he paused, side eyeing them. “not that... this isn’t what i picked for myself. that’s in my back pocket, but - well, i thought i might as well put my dog’s old collar, too... is that lame? that’s... really lame, isn’t it?”

When she was asked to help photograph the ball she was thrilled, it was far better then making a full of herself on a stupid dance floor. After getting photos of the majority of the guests she decided to sneak away for a small break and slipped away to look at the heirlooms on display. As she turned to walk away from the heirloom she had been looking at she managed to walk into someone. “I am so sorry I didn’t realize anyone else was in here.” She explained sheepishly. “Though I must admit I am glad I walking into you and not an heirloom.”

john gilbert couldn't have chosen a better day or place to make an appearance in mystic falls. a member of the founding family, it was his duty to show up and stir up a rehaul in the council, who were slacking big time as far as he could tell so far—and he'd been here for no more than 48 hours. he stepped into the lockwood mansion later into the night, sporting a gilbert ring on his finger disguised as an heirloom he'd never allow on display. his eyes scanned the crowd, before john turned to the person closest to him. "fancy party, huh? so. what have i missed?"

Heidi was never used to fancy parties like this. She navigated the crowd awkwardly hoping not to step on anyones toes. Finally she found the door and stepped outside into the cool night air. Finally she felt like she could breath, there wasn’t a million eyes on her. She had never been to anything like this and already hated it. She felt uncomfortable in the dress and her shoes were killing her slowly. As she tried to pull the shoes off her feet without sitting down she crashed into someone as they walked through the door. “I am so sorry.” She said quickly glancing over the person for injury.

"All I could think to bring were crystals," Violet mused clutching a small velvet drawstring pouch in her palm, both arms were crossed nervously, waiting for the night to start. The sooner it did the sooner she could go home and get back to other tasks at hand.
