The crimson fluid bubbled as the prince finally emerged from it. He sighed with exasperation before he passed a hand into his damp hair to get some of the excess blood out. This was kind of an embarrassing way to go home considering how he had managed to defeat the fury prior his downfall. The notion suddenly becoming worse as the god of sleep casually reminded him how he had died and said something along the lines of: Try not to step in lava next time.
The prince tried not to seem annoyed and responded with. “I’ll keep that in mind.” Before turning around the corner and coming face to face with Megaera. He abruptly stopped, practically collided right into her as he had been a bit distracted by Hypnos, perhaps too much to pay attention to where he was going.
“Uhm-...” Now that was even more awkward. “You didn’t hear that, did you?”

“Look man,” Jimmy huffed, running a hand through xis hair as xe looked across the reception desk at the reporter across from xim. Xis leather balaclava had been discarded to show xis face and currently green hair. Usually there was no need to disguise their faces inside of Play Ball, since people didn’t tend to come into the store, knowing it was just better to stay away. “We don’t really like journalists coming into our shop front.” It was well known that the Secret Police didn’t get along with journalists, especially when they invaded their territory.
“You could put in an information request,” came a voice seemingly from nowhere and a mop of dark curls popped up from under the desk. The walkie-talkie set on the desk let out a burst of static as Jimmy sent out a telepathic critique towards Alex, causing a wince from the younger member of the police. Xe had been acting unhelpful on purpose but still Alex continued.
“If you fill out one of the forms and then put it in the box,” they gestured towards a letter box that was more than full of paper, overflowing onto the aged carpet of their front, “We should get back to you on that.” Judging from how few people came into their shop front, the box couldn’t have been opened in years and Riley’s requests would also likely go unread. Their system wasn’t designed to be helpful.

"... Hey," called the pirate softly from behind, a small caring smile on her face. She didn't want to bother Riley, but she didn't want to leave him alone with his thoughts, either. Reaching a hand out, Menkar offers him half of a tangerine, hoping that would give her an excuse to sit besides him and make him company. "Brought half for you."
☆ @fantastiicaly LIKED FOR A STARTER !
❝ IS YOUR hair always that color ? ❞
AS IF to further articulate her point, she gives the curled ends of her own cherry red hair a decisive little tug. ❝ Is it like that on its own ? Or did you do something to change it ? ❞ she inquires; there’s a distinct little lilt at the ends of her syllables, one that betrays she isn’t being sarcastic despite the evident obviousness of her question. In all her time on Earth, she’s only observed brown, black, red, blond -- but who is she to know for certain a human couldn’t have green ? ❝ Oh, but -- I don’t think it’s a bad color, ❞ she clarifies abruptly, shaking her hands as if to dispel any lingering malice. ❝ I quite like green ! ❞
A loosely plotted starter between Riley and Alex for @fantastiicaly ;
Alex was a little nervous, unsurprisingly, considering that they had never really been on a diner date before. Maybe the pressure was self-inflicted in that they were even calling it a date; they’d never explicitly said that it was to Riley. They’d just suggested that they should have breakfast for dinner one day, since no one ever really joined them when they did and Riley had agreed pretty eagerly. Jimmy had turned xyr nose up at the idea, as xe always did and they were starting to think that maybe xe was right, as standing under the headache-inducing green neon lights of the Moonlite All-Nite Diner made them feel like they weren’t even going to be able to stammer out their own name, let alone anything like a conversation.
The familiar staticky radio and rubber and bread smell of the diner welcomed them as soon as they stepped into the door and lurked around for a few moments, torn between sitting down and waiting for Riley to show. Thankfully, they didn’t have to wait long because a familiar silhouette crossed to meet them and saved them from their increasing dilemma in which one of the options felt like just running aware.
“H-Hello,” Alex stammered in greeting, handsome smile spreading over their face despite recognising that their voice sounded very unsure. They were suddenly hyper aware that Riley hadn’t seen them in their non-work combination of soft knitwear and an oversized denim jacket. Maybe he thought they would be cool like Jimmy instead and now felt missold on who he was meeting up with.
@fantastiicaly - Liked for a past-credit starter [X]
The prince glanced around his father’s working space, seeing as his mother wasn’t standing close-by. “She must be in the garden.” He said quietly under his breath, going down the hall and past the lounge. He walked amidst the greeneries and came to wonder how they would feel if his feet weren’t constantly coated with flames. Meanwhile, it was a surprise to him that most things within this house didn’t caught fire underneath his heels.
“Mother!” He said, calling out to her. Zagreus always seemed very excited to see her, his warmth truly shining through whenever she came in his peripheral. He immediately when for a hug, disregarding that she might’ve been busy tending the garden. “I went to tend to your cottage for as long as I could.”
This is Jimmy music tbh.
