On the topic of the Librarians - on a scale of 1 to 10, how much does it fuck you up that Ezekiel grew up with his mother and three older sisters treating him like a failure and a disappointment, followed up with several times throughout the show, when the going gets tough, he's the first one to label himself as, and I quote, "completely expendable"?

on that same topic, do you ever think about how much flynn writes off ezekiel bc he doesn’t really know him and then in 3x02 when it’s flynn’s fault that ezekiel gets bitten and yet he still is brave enough to go and save the day and you can SEE flynn realize how much he underestimated him? 

my feels about ezekiel can mostly be boiled down to how much he deserves protection and love from the team and cooking up fics so i can give it to him lol. as much as i loved that christmas ep, i would love a scene of mama baird protecting him in front of her (in fact, i’m convinced that eve wasn’t in that ep because she would’ve gone The Guardian on her and the show doesn’t have an adult enough rating for that lmao)

The Librarians + music, pretty please?

Okay, so I’ll start by stating that the song which came up when I shuffled was Omie Wise by Doc Watson which is about a man murdering his pregnant lover by drowning her, and the eventual discovery of her body/his conviction. It is also a folk song.

Onto the OC: Not entirely sure what I’d name her, but she’s the spirit of a murdered woman who haunts near a river where she was drowned at some point in the 1800s by her lover. This is probably also somewhere in the south or rural Appalachia  The artifact is not directly connected to her, but to get to it the LITs need to go through the territory where she haunts to get to it and this is kind of hard because she isn’t exactly the kind of ghost that is happy to see people. Ezekiel and Jake keep trying to come up with all these schemes to sneak past her (which really doesn’t work with a ghost), but after finding out about the story of her life and death, Eve and Cassandra just end up deciding to befriend her because Cassandra figures she must be angry and lonely, and this actually works. 

I’m very torn on face claims. My first instinct was to use Sara Martins since I’m very in love with her right now, but obviously using a black actress for this type of character might take it beyond the realm of still somewhat light-heartedness/family-friendly guise of The Librarians (I just don’t think you could do that kind of storyline in a way that was both sensitive enough to the real issue and still somewhat in tune with the show especially since the song already lends a very dark angle without adding slavery and racism) so a white actress would probably be better, but I’m not entirely sure who.

I think the part where Jaina realizes what Varian’s gift really is and why he gave it. I like that a lot. feels.

I still really like the part waaaaay in the beginning when Jaina is chewing Khadgar out ‘cause he was playing devil’s advocate and she didnt see it because super!abused person and she’s like “I’m trying to save my soul you unmitigated ass”

oh geez. this is tough. I should go re-read my fic there’s just So Much of it XD

lamia // the librarians

and it’s eve that knocks over the old storybook weeks after tethering; it spits out a long lost foe, a woman who had been betrayed by the terrible man she followed.

the others are wary, but eve had seen lamia in that alternate timeline, the love and loyalty she had possessed toward cassandra. just like she had seen the potential of the LITs as librarians, she had seen the guardian that lamia could be. and eve, for all that she tries her best to protect her charges, is a tethered guardian now. with her new responsibilities, she needs the help.

so she trains her, harder than she has ever trained another human being. lamia is a better weapons specialist to her superior tactics training, and teaches her a new weapon for every training module eve puts her through. gradually, the others warm up to her, and when lamia singlehandedly saves ezekiel from a gorgon by nearly killing herself in his place, they welcome her with open arms.

when flynn asks eve what the best part of having a second guardian is, she smiles and says that her librarians are better protected.

(really, the best part is the monthly coffee dates lamia and she have with nicole where they complain for four hours straight about their librarians, but that’s a secret she’ll happily keep from her husband.)
