Day 4 - Scale
Ritual Blade of Xenaxenes, Bull Lord of Northern Ipeiros
While the Orks of Prasinos are known for the love of architecture, democracy* and art, the Orks of Ipeiros are known for their love of combat and conquest.
Young Ipeiran Orks who vie to become the Bull Lord of their tribe must undertake a ritual test and rite of passage: the contender heads out onto the grassy plains alone and unarmed and must fight and kill the largest Anooros (a powerful, large and territorial creature covered in sharp scales, though it is herbivorous it is one of the most dangerous creatures of the Ipeiran Plains) they can.
Once slain, the young warrior must drag the creature’s corpse all the way back to their tribe where its sharp scales are used to create the “blade” of a sword.
Wealthier tribes (like that of Xenaxenes) often employ materials like the red Orkish marble for the hilt of these blades, while smaller and less prosperous tribes employ materials like brass and wood for these blades.
*The democracy of the Prasinian Orks is a democracy only in name, it long ago devolved into a plutocracy and its economy is supported by rampant slavery - slaves often supplied by the military conquests of the Ipeiran Orks.
