Fantasy possession trope, but it’s a Fae who’s possessed by a human spirit. Whenever they’re stuck in bad situations the human takes over so they can bullshit their way out of things.

Call that Fae-ing by the seat of their pants.

a character inheriting a throne they didn’t want and aren’t ready for, perhaps in the wake of a mysterious tragedy. the crown is too large for their head, the cape hangs heavy on their shoulders, and the cold, empty castle feels nothing like a home. they ask themselves, “why was i chosen for this? what do i have to offer that no one else does?”

One trope I will never get are people in fanatsy parallel worlds having no concept of the human planet, espcially not of geography. “What is California?” Hello, you are maybe in a parallel world but you still live on that planet. This trope is so dumb!
