Yo, if anyone knows any Really Clever D&D 3.X/D20 Modern houserules/hacks/etc, let me know. I'm getting ready to run a game of Mongoose's Infernum, a 3.x/d20 modern mashup/hack that is as dysfunctional as it is brilliant.
Stuff I know about:
Pathfinder 1e's innovations in 3.x class design. Not useful--class in Infernum is a different concept than in other 3.x games (it's technically a race-as-class system).
PF1e's systematization of "combat maneuvers". I've chosen not to use them because they treat stuff like "tripping" and "disarming" as things that a character would specialize in, rather than options that just Exist.
FantasyCraft (and related games like SpyCraft) Exist and are closely mechanically related to 3.x/d20 modern. I remember reading it once to see if it would be useful for running Eberron. If there's useful mechanical innovation in there, I've forgotten it.
Castles and Crusades (aka the SIEGE engine) and Dungeon Crawl Classics exist. I remember from skimming them that they had more of a 3.x "vibe" than other OSR games, but I think that was more a consequence of their layout and minor stuff like the use of the term "Base Attack Bonus" or "Will/Ref/Fort saves" rather than the actual mechanics

Something a little different today. His name is Jason.
Materials: wood box, black spray paint, acrylic paint, tin foil and air dry clay for structural support and rocks, regular and translucent polymer clay for details, tea light for fire, epoxy resin and glitter for pool of gold, and clear nail polish for shine.
WIP: One of my own spirits, another sculpture which has been waiting for about 3 years until my painting skill grows enough to find the right colors for it. I painted a picture on her back about 1,5 years ago and am still happy with it but her face, fur, arms and legs were different until now and didn’t give the feeling I wanted. Now I feel the way and know what else to do to finish the sculpture, it’s going to be magnificent. 🥰 #wip #svetlanapolupanova #sweetsigncreatures #fantasy #ooak #sculptor #sculpture #creature #fantasycreature #spirit #artoftheday #artistsoninstagram #fantasyart #forestspirit #runes #algiz #magicforest #natureinspired #handmade #oneofakindart #beautifulbizarre #forest #storyteller #fantasycraft #eerie https://www.instagram.com/p/B5SoxGSFr4v/?igshid=vz653mp86xfo
