Mutual pining Bagginshield!

Hello friend,

I will surmise that this is for the "Do I ship it or not" game.

First of all, I always love Mutual Pining. It's one of my weaknesses, so please, please, yes.

Now, when it comes to Bagginshield, that's one of the most nuanced (not to say unnecessarily complicated) relationships I have with ships.

Do I ship Bagginshield? I don't know.

Can I imagine them being in a relationship? Yes

Do I like that dynamic and relationship? Sometimes

Have I written Bagginshield? Yes

Will I write it again? Yes

Do I read Bagginshield? Not much, tbh.

So, in theory, I absolutely am on board with Mutual Pining Bagginshield, because all the elements of the trope/ship fit my taste.

Unfortunately, it's not necessarily something I'd seek out actively. I am, at heart, an AU-bitch with a strong preference for shorter works.

If a fic fell into my lap, shorter than let's say 10k, featuring Bagginshield in a mutual pining arrangement, NOT in-universe...I would absolutely read and enjoy that.

BUT it's highly unlikely that it would fall into my lap.

Also, Bagginshield is a highly shipped pairing (with many people being very passionate about it), and I always feel a bit lost at sea among them :D

So, TLDR: Yes, yes, I'd ship that! (@lordoftherazzles can attest to that)

Bagginshield - Out of pride

Brows knitting, Bilbo tucked his fingers into a tight fist one by one. The endless buzzing of rumours and mocking remarks felt like ravenous blowflies aggregating on his dying happiness, and he was tempted to squash them mercilessly. Remembering his upbringing and the discreet weapons of a gentlehobbit instead, he walked up to Thorin brazenly and grabbed the king by his richly adorned collar, pulling him into a passionate, entirely inappropriate kiss. Not one to complain about this welcome interruption of a boring conversation, Thorin melted into the caress gladly. When they finally parted, both their faces shone with pride.
