One of my illustrations for @wistfulchicken's "Lost Kingdom", a gorgeous fic about Thorin's return to life, which inspired me to no end!

Drawn for the wip-roundup event hosted by @acorn-and-oakleaves, where I got to work with the wonderful @fantasyinallforms and illustrate their story Right from Under your Nose.

And that's a wrap!!! Thank you guys so much for making this first year so successful. We feel like we've learned a lot, and will be working hard on how to make it better this next year. I am VERY excited to say that I was paired with amazing @all-things-hobbit for the WIP Round-Up Event hosted by @acorn-and-oakleaves !!! He made this FANTASTIC art for my fic, The Winner Takes It All! I can’t stop smiling at this piece, it feels surreal to have this art for my fic 🥹

Perhaps Primula was right, maybe his shed was haunted. It had to be, because that was the only feasible explanation to explain why he saw Thorin Oakenshield, Legolas Greenleaf, and his dear friend Bofur in his shed. Bilbo couldn't breathe, a litany of emotions flooding his small body. Thorin was more handsome then he recalled. Was that grays he saw in his raven black hair? And oh, poor Legolas looked uncomfortable curled up in the tiny shack. Dear Gods, why in Middle Earth were they here?! Bilbo had a wedding to prepare for, he couldn't handle his.

With a yelp, Bilbo's thoughts came to an abrupt stop as he lost his balance. The boxes came tumbling down and before he knew it, Bilbo fell onto plush grass. The pain across his back and head took his breath away, and he closed his eyes with a groan.

When he opened his eyes, three concerned faces stood above him. Bilbo couldn't help but laugh, nearly crazed at the reality he was facing. "No- I-I must have a concussion and be hallucinating because there is no possibile way-" He tried to sit up but fell back with a whimper. "Oh, Yavanna kill me now."

Summary:

What begins as Ori only intending to share a bed roll with Fíli for warmth one night, eventually turns into the acquaintances becoming curious about each other after, then falling in love over the course of the quest despite others wishing they would just leave each other be.

Meanwhile, Thorin is doing his best to be a good example for his eldest sister-son and not act on the urge to let himself be wrapped around one specific Hobbit Omega's fingers. However, he fails spectacularly.

The rest, as some say, is history.
