this might be a silly question but idk i’m unfamiliar with, like, kinkmeme etiquette. if there’s a prompt that i like and that gets gears turning in my mind factory but doesn’t adhere to something the prompt specifically requested (smut im talking about smut idk how to write sex let alone HEAT sex) would i still claim the prompt or would i……not?

apologies if that’s a silly question i was just perusing the prompts to get brainstorming LOL

Hi! As for our kinkmeme, you can still claim the prompt, but maybe put a little author's note in the beginning about just being inspired by it!

Yes! There will be some reworking of the rules, so offline life willing it should be out at the end of next week. In the meantime, you can keep posting prompts in Round two!

Okay we all know how fandom tends to... break out of containment sometimes - we have seen what has happened with hockey and booktok, we know that some late night hosts have shown fanart/fanfic to celebrities, the people involved get tagged in fandom stuff on socmed and, lastly, F1 social media itself has started using ship names.

They might be aware of RPF and just ignoring it, or they may be not aware at all, but we think it's best to keep the "more controversial" stuff anonymous and out of their reach. Just at it should be. So, squick list works, be it fanfic or fanart or edits, are to be kept on AO3, anonymous and archive locked!

Hello, and sorry for the long absence (life has been happening to all of us mods).

Since we have got a couple of asks about it, here's a little clarification:

There are no deadlines for fulfilling prompts, neither for Round 1 or Round 2.

Prompting for Round 2 will end once it reaches 3k prompts, at that point Round 3 will open. It will still be possible to fulfill prompts from old rounds.

DE-ANONING REQUESTS, A GUIDE

As AO3 does not have a way to let authors opt-in or out of anonimity in an anonymous collection, you have to message us mods if you want your fic de-anoned.

AO3's collection moderation page does not have filters, so when you send us your request, please send us:

Work title + author name + publication date OR

Work link + author name

Hello, sorry if you’ve already answered this somewhere… I did look but couldn’t see the answer! I can see that the rules on kinkmeme are no other athletes, would you mind explaining the reasoning behind this? I know in particular Rico Verhoeven, Scotty James and Josh Allen appear in a lot of Max or Daniel fic.

There is some confusion as the second rule says “⚠️NEW! NO PROMPTS WITH ATHLETES THAT ARE NOT IN MOTORSPORTS.” and later another rule says “AS LONG AS AT LEAST ONE DRIVER IS AN F1 DRIVER you can prompt pairings (or threesomes etc etc) with drivers from other motorsport categories like Formula E, IndyCars, WEC etcetera, or even other sports.”

Also, just to clarify, there is no other athletes but it doesn’t say anything about other celebrities… (as long as they’re not WAGs) so is, for example, Max/Martin Garrix okay?

To put it simply: we did an interest check, most of the people voted for the rule, so it was implemented.

As for other celebrities... that would be a no too, just because it would seem counterintuitive if we don't allow no motorsports athletes - we no issue with the pairings, it's just to keep the event more streamlined and focused on Formula One (and, marginally, motorsports in general).

I posted a fic on ao3 for the kinktober day 2 prompt but i wasn't able to add it to the kinktober collection - the only thing that shows up in the search bar is the mix and match kinktober/flufftober collection even when i type the right terms.. do you know how to solve this ? Anyway, thank you for organizing this !

can i ask why this round is being so heavily moderated? it's kind of a bummer to have so many rules about what you can and can't prompt or write for a kinkmeme. some rules make sense, but there are so many...
