Fast Walk
Diagon Alley October 31, 2027 @matilda-nott
While Dierdra didn’t have anything else on her schedule, she was still a little annoyed that her meeting with Roxanne had taken longer than she anticipated. Outside of her window showed no shadow, but as soon as Dierdra left her shop the chill that crawled along her back made her think that perhaps she shouldn’t try to be brave this time.
Except what is there to be afraid of?
The distance between the shop and the Leaky Cauldron wasn’t far—Diagon Alley was a busy street but it wasn’t as if it took more than 20 minutes to get from one end of it to another. Dierdra could do it in 10 minutes if she sprinted.
The road had been clear and her feet pounded at the pavement, though the dementors hadn’t taken long for her to slow down. Not because of the chill, not because of the cloudiness, but because how pointless even running could be, with the air stinging at her lips and nose.
Even if her sprint had slowed to a fast walk, she wouldn’t have stopped had someone hasn’t stepped in her path. Dierdra skittered to a stop, barely missing the woman that hadn’t been there before—or the fog had been so thick that Dierdra had quickly lost sight of her path in spite of the fact that there was only one main road to the Leaky Cauldron.

Humans Do Not Think When They Want to Achieve Results Fast. I was an active member of a writing platform called Medium. Undoubtedly, my best post was “Universe has a weird sense of humor.” Why do I tell you that? I am on the same life train stop today since I overestimated my abilities. Once again, I am physically sick. I got too much work on my shoulders. My body can not take the stress of…
