@fastest-turk - ❝ let me help with that. ❞
mercy didn’t want help. she was perfectly capable of carrying heavy things on her own. she was strong. she knew that. even if she was short and the things she happened to be carrying were haphazardly stacked juuuust high enough that she couldn’t see over them. one misstep would have been dangerous, but she didn’t care. she could do this. she could absolutely do this.
probably.
“don’t start with me, reno. i’m a strong, independent woman who don’t need no ma--”
she missed her step, and let out the girliest sounding squeal she’d ever heard herself make escape her lips as all the boxes and papers leaned and toppled over. mercy’s instinctive reaction? to flail about uselessly as she tried to catch this or that before it fell. she managed to catch... one sheet of paper. hey, at least that was something! everything else, however, had landed on the floor, mocking her as she stared down at it. slowly she directed her gaze to the tall redhead nearby, cheeks splashed with red.
“...okay, so. maybe i could use some help. and don’t tell anyone about this. i have a reputation i wanna keep.”
